My climbing has been up and down in the last year. I started really well smashing a few reds in the first half of the year but then got an elbow injury, which was compounded with a shoulder injury and killed my climbing, which in turn resulted in too many lazy days eating junk food.
However I did not give up, booking many sessions with physios and started with very light exercise doing yellows and blues.
In order to help me get back to my old level, my climbing gym actually set up an orange climb targeted at me. This has helped me a lot as it has given me confidence to try harder climbs again after a few months of rehab to get over shoulder and elbow injuries.
Lots of friends I made at the climbing gym kept chatting to me and encouraging my return even when we couldn't climb together due to injury.
I am glad that my skills are coming back and I'd like to thank everyone at my climbing gym as well as my climbing buddies for not giving up on me!
