Hi Friends!
It was late summer 2014 when together with my 'new' wife traveled on our honeymoon to the island of Crete.
That trip will stay in our memories forever - the beauty of the old small towns and villages, the beauty of nature around us, colorful beaches, mountains, wildlife - and the food! And the people... and the time of great relax... wish to go back there from time to time to refresh these experiences...
Below in the gallery some random selection of street photography - from different places located in the Western part of the island - Chania, Retimno, Argiroupoli and few other, smaller villages.
It was late summer - almost after the main season so the island wasn't so crowded as in the high summer time. Water in the sea was still warm but there was no traffic on the roads and not so many noise in touristic places.
We joined many different trips around and saw most of the main attractions in this part of the island - other, eastern part still remains undiscovered for us.
We are hoping to come back there one day - not two of us but three right now... if so - I will contact @fotostef to get some recommendations for sure :)

It would be great to come again one day and I would be glad to give you any info you might find useful. The one thing you should definitely consider though, is DON'T come in August!

Thanks! I will avoid June-July-August for sure! I am not a fan of such rush and noise in such beautiful places. We were there at the end of September - some of the restaurants were closed already, most of them were almost empty - but it was perfect time for us and a perfect two weeks of tripping and experiencing the culture in any form! Take care!
