Wednesday Walk - Through the Frost

in #photography2 years ago

This week I went for a walk that blew my mind away. The day didn’t start off as I’d planned. I missed to hit the snooze button and overslept a bit. It was my 1 year old son that woke me up in the end, he’s my back up alarm clock it seems. I quickly headed off to work and by the time I arrived in the office it was still dark. It was not until later, when I looked up from the screen that I knew it would be an awesome day!

As it was time for lunch I decided to waste not time, so I made fast work of my meatball sandwiches and headed out. That’s when I was met with this sight above. The Over night low temperatures had turned the surroundings into a frozen landscape. For me this section of the forest looked very interesting, the texture and shape almost reminding of a wave crashing down.

As I continued my walk I found some trees that were more secluded and thus could better show their texture. These are birches, a special kind of birch we call hanging birch, that look pretty cool when the frost comes.

I just couldn’t stop taking photos as each tree looked interesting.

But as the sun was already setting ( lunch time I know it’s crazy) I realized I had to pick up the pace.

Just one more photo. Click. Okay down with the camera in the pocket so I don’t get frost on my phone lens as well.

Okay now we are getting places. This is my favorite spot to go for a walk during lunch break. They made it real nice with the traditional Swedish pine fence.

Here you can get a closer look.

Here is a pretty nice view point over the field. As you can see the sun is now only covering the top part of the landscape. As well as the stereotypical red barn in the back. Nice with a touch of color in this otherwise white and black landscape. I very much enjoyed this walk but now it was time to get back to the office for some more work on a day I would have loved to continue enjoying the landscape outdoors.

Thanks to @tattodjay for hosting #wednesdaywalk and for all those that participate and share their different walks of life.

These are definitely not black & white.

Haha lol . Damn That last post is going to haunt me. Can’t believe I left a fleck of color in a monochrome photo, kind of ruined my Xmas that was otherwise so perfect.

If you pirated the picture, you'd have a case. This was a subtle mistake only for the highly trained eye. Don't sweat it ever again.

Yea I couldn’t even see it at first. But atleast now I know what they mean and how to avoid it in the future.

Wow. So beautiful.

Happy New Year 2022🎉 @dandesign86
