Candlelight seduction w/ Stevie!

in #photography3 years ago (edited)

What’s up, Hive? Happy Beltane! It’s Saturday night and I’m winding down after a week that’s left me mentally and creatively depleted. The @eos.detroit juggernaut continues on, and my role in the company has taken on a lot of stress and responsibility. I’m used to managing myself, but now with @swarddraws, @bryan-imhoff and our 2D artist, it’s a whole team. We’re doing some really cool work, but this week hit the inevitable blocks that come with teamwork over freelance art. All good. We’re set to finally have some announcements this week.

I carved some time out to edit a few photos at @caffetto. Remember last week I shot with Stevie? Well, I managed to edit a couple more shots. The previous edit, which I’ll include below, got an incredible response here on Hive and my social media accounts. Stevie just has something special and I saw it immediately. Our shoot was one of the few times I set something up for fun. I have this new Nikon Z6II, and since starting at @eos.detroit full time, I’m not as dependent on my photography income as I once was.

Stevie brought it, even though this was one of only a couple of professional shoots. Our original shoot location fell through and I sprinted to get my house in shoot order. Always a nice thing because the place is immaculate immediately after. Stevie brought a few outfits and I broke out my box of candles for that warm dietetic lighting. This was the first time I’ve shot in my studio/office, which was the perfect backdrop for a dark, witchy vibe. Red walls and a dozen antique frames, each over 100 years old.

There is most likely one more set still to come from this shoot with Stevie. It was my most recent shoot, and just having a chance to look through the RAW images, I spotted several that will make the cut for a future round of editing. I have a trip coming up to the east coast in just over a week. Stopping in Ohio and Detroit, than visiting @bonni, @customnature and @ryanashley. Hey! Maybe we can even get @bryan-imhoff to make the drive to Scranton as a Hive homecoming of sorts. Thanks for reading!

Amazing shots as always. Keep up the great work.

For real @kommienezuspadt does some amazing work! A real professional, been following him for several years now, never fails to impress. But there is something about that first photos that says....this girl really needs to go to church! haha Hope you guys both are doing well.

Thanks, @world-travel-pro! Yeah. I'm a Hive ride-or-die. Still can't justify giving this kind of time or energy to anything that doesn't give me something in return. The Zuckerberg networks are all so awful. So how has been world travel during a time there is so little world travel?

OMG I wrote so much. Sorry about that.....lol

Couldn't agree more regarding Suckerberg and his ilk. I've been having the time of my life since Covid happened. Got on one of the last planes from Vietnam to Thailand back in March 2020. I was watching the news and was like I'm gonna stuck somewhere, better get back to Thailand where the living is soooo good. I'm writing you from an exotic island in the gulf of Thailand. It's so beautiful here, weather is perfect, beaches are perfect, and since covid rent has dropped almost 50% and I don't have swarms of tourists to share everything with. So I'm living a very high quality lifestyle here on about 800 bucks a month.

There is almost no covid cases compared to the rest of the world and life is pretty normal. I can still travel the country freely and there are so many awesome locations to visit. However I spent a lot of 2020 up in Chiang Mai where I met my new Thai girlfriend. The European girlfriend, missed her family and wanted to go back to Europe, I was like go right ahead. I'm staying here where it is warm, friendly, tasty, and cheap. She was always complaining about something anyway, so her leaving was certainly for the best. Now with my new girl, she is Buddhist and incredibly peaceful, happy, in good spirits, appreciative like all the time. A real breath of fresh air compared to girls I've dated in the past. She grew up in the jungle in a Hilltribe of all place. I call her my Jungle Buddha Baby! hahaha

She is helping me with my blog now, so I'll have time to put out some better quality posts, and comment and view other people's posts like yours which I really enjoy. Beside that we are gonna set off on a exciting island hoping adventure all over Thailand then make our way inland as well, it should take us through the rest of the year. I'm really looking forward to it.

Funny how people always asked me if I had to stop traveling and choose one country to live in for the rest of my life which one would it be? I always would say Thailand with out a doubt. And now here I am during these strange times. Really love it here and it's such a great country to travel through, so many awesome places, and besides all that.....where else in the world can I get an hour massage for 5 dollars. (well, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Indonesia...hahaha I should know ;) ) So I'm still a happy travel pro, but I may have to change my screen name to Thailand Travel Pro! hahaha

You seemed to ask the right question....lol I could probably go on and on.

What about you? I hear every state is kind of doing their own thing with lockdowns and restrictions and stuff. my dad is in Florida and says things are pretty normal there, then I hear about Massachusetts and my home state of NY and it's like a full on lockdown mess. Looks like your demand as a photographer has not slowed down which is great. No need for a long reply, I just get a little rambly sometimes. Keep up the great work and amazing photographs!

Nice shots! Have a great trip. I should be a well deserved break for you though I have a feeling you will be doing some work on the trip too!
