📷 Night Thunderstorm

in #photography4 years ago

Today I want to share a couple of photos of one night thunderstorm in Argentina. We had a rather long drive through the province of Mendoza, and at the end of the day, after one of the most beautiful sunsets, we watched for at least an hour a magnificent night thunderstorm with tens or hundreds of lightning bolts. Photos were taken in the pretty lodges in San Rafael, Mendoza. We just arrived an hour ago and again we didn't manage to go somewhere else, so I shot right where we were, with a glass of wine within reach :)

I really wanted to catch lightning, and I got something. I shot using the Live Composite mode, so I can't say the exact exposure time of the shots, but it was several minutes each. I could not choose the best one of the two shots with lightning that I mostly like, so I post both.

On the lower one, there are closer and more noticeable lightning, but clouds rushing very quickly across the sky are heavily blurred, and there are still no lights from streetlights. And on the upper one with clouds and streetlights it turned out better, but the lightning is only in the distance, rather small. I wonder which one you like best?

It's better to watch the photos in high resolution.
