I'm sure you can feel it in the air
Our feelings collide, but still, never compare
We struggle to speak of things we can't control
Speak more with our hearts than our words ever told

We don't have to be the same, to love and respect
Our lives can be lived differently with our own respect
We might feel differently, but we both hold the key
To know how love and respect will set us free

We miss the moments that life passes us by
But we still stay true to each other before goodbye
No matter what happens we don't lose sight
When it comes to love and respect, it's our own free will tonight

We try so hard to make it all alright
We wanna change what's in the other person's sight
We fight, we argue, and even break each other's hearts
But it's all part of our journey as we reach for the stars

Cause when it comes to love, there's no scalpel in sight
No white coat or mask to bring us the light
We have a choice to either take or leave it all behind
Cause there is something beautiful deep inside our minds

We need to understand that our freedom is real
It's how we choose to be controlled and how we feel
Let go of all the fear and hurt that lies in between
Let's begin a new journey and make a new dream.
