Life is not a bed of roses
What a relief it isn't
For underneath a bed of roses
lies an army of thorns
For the rose's sweet fragrance, and soft petals
Are nothing but a mirage
To hide the ugly side of such a beauty
The hard and spiky thorns
Sharp enough to cut and make you bleed
We need to possess the hard and spiky side as well
To compliment our sweet and soft side
Many tales have been told about good people who died horrible deaths at the hands of those they were kind to
You see, the hard, sharp and spiky side are crucial to our survival
To protect us from those who will harm us
Everyone possesess a sharp and spiky side
As well as a conventional soft and sweet side
The thorns compliments the roses
So, In the end
Life is a bed of roses
