Hello Hive!
I am new to PeakD. So thank you for your patience while I figure this out this new platform.
This is me with one of my favorite artist's, Jessica Joslin, sculpture from my collection.
Caritas, oil on panel, 40 x 30 images. This will be on exhibit at ArtFields in South Carolina at the end of the month and through April.

My work consists of creating and exhibiting labor-intensive oil paintings that can be considered contemporary surrealism or imaginary realism. I typically depict the world realistically and then subvert and distort it in order to construct a strong sense of narrative and meaning. Each composition becomes a dense meta-narrative, informed by religious, mythological, and cultural iconography. The subjects of my work include gods, rulers, and demons as metaphors for the diverse archetypes of the human condition. This content evolves toward parable-like narratives, not unlike the ones in pre-modern paintings that told biblical and mythical stories through visual language.
My paintings are
exhibited in museums and galleries nationally and internationally, including: the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Mesa Contemporary Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville, the Delaware Contemporary, Billy Shire Fine Arts and La Luz de Jesus in Los Angeles, the Harwood Museum in Taos, the Instituto de America de Santa Fe in Granada, Spain; and the Ningbo Art Museum in China. Raised on the front range in Colorado, I live and works in Northern Florida, where I am a Professor of Painting and Drawing at Florida State University.

I like the sculpture piece your friend did, and I like how you are presenting it and yourself to us. You look like you could be a character in a Victorian era steampunk novel. The hands, I have heard that the drawing of hands is not an easy thing to accomplish and that sort of hide the hands and de-emphasis them. However I noted that you like hands, and they do look really good in the gallery images of yours I saw along with the image you presented to us here.
For me the hands were the first feature I saw in your works, and then of course I had to see what the hands were doing, and that leads to a closer examination of the whole picture for me.
It is almost like you use the hands to pull people in, some use the eyes, and I am far and away not an artist or even an art critic, I just see what I see. Welcome to Hive Block Chain, I hope you visit us on a fairly regular basis I would like to see more of your work and perhaps some insights into the why or how of it.

You did it! You joined hive , after the first birthday of the platform. So Hi there , welcone 2021 is gonna be a great blogging year, not on the least because you decided to join!
The beginning can be daunting and the tech language sometimes is nervewrecking but believe me it do able ! No it’s not a free get rich quick sceam but you can earn if you are committed. It’s a true movement and blockchain, and I love that you decided to join us here. You will have fun blogging and vlogging I promise. And the garden will have some great tags to blog in about that hobby.
But in the beginning it’s hard and new and maybe you need help. We have amazing people here and a help discord if you need it. I love blogging, been here for three years already. But always be carefull with all your passwords, Never give those up !! I speak from experience !
