I have been running a demo node for experimental reasons that I will share with the public.

My Storage Node Stats ✔️

Hey! 🤪 it has been very hard to keep up with posts, lately for me.

Not because of COVID-19 right now, since in New Zealand (in #nz) we have 1 case remaining... quite a feat, compared with many other places!

I can go visit friends as long I keep a reminding record of who I have contact with. That is, if I get sick or someone get's sick, I can quickly feed information about who I came in contact with.

But mostly what it means for me, is that economy is safely returning without any new cases... 😉 it works!

This month I am going to be honest... I did not do any research about Storj... it was just, AS-IS... sorry, but time did not allowed me. I have been struggling with time for personal reasons. Even this update is already late... and demanding too much of me, but I had to make it. So, please forgive the lack of time towards this dedication.

This month, one big update came out (late in May) and I have not yet checked what came out on it, but I can foresee already some corrected things. The reaction of having a node full for example (no more space available) and then the sudden released space latency, when it becomes available again, it is working way more faster.

Before, I noticed that once I got space freed, it would take some days until that space would be considered for "being available" again. Now, that is way much quicker... even reacts within the hour.

This month I am expected to receive a payout of $1.81 (up from $1.08) in equivalent STORJ token. My Held balance still increased...

Uploads

This month I will start comparing with the previous month. We went from 17.26 GB to 41.87 GB... Quite an increase, and that looks like the norminal🤪 rate... for me. I would say that for 1 TB of storage, right now... you should expect 50-100 GB of upload in average.

This looks like what I was expecting. Pretty happy... even if still under the "profitable" thresholds.

Disk space consumption

With the new updates remaining space gets filled way more quicker... Before it would take some time or a restart of the node to inquire the satellite. Now it looks much reactive. Let's see throught June how it behaves...

I might as well now, increase the storage capacity to see how it reacts... as the top capacity has now shown that it has demand...

Yes this is a pretext for you to start sharing... there is DEMAND!

Downloads

Nice... finally my downloads are bit distressed... with the node full, they are coming down. Not for a lot! But down a bit at least...

It's noticeable at least that the regularly of downloads is way less "averageable"... There are way more spikes! Which is normal, since when there is space freed, the node tries quickly to get more data to remain full.

This might also mean there is a lot more demand that I have predicted. So, take this as a good invite for you to try it.

Latest updates

This month, I can't comment on updates... much. All I have noticed was better reaction on FULL nodes. Aside from that, nothing much...
