The Terminal curation challenge and my support

Dear Hivers,

I have recently joined @theterminal Community and I can say with no doubt that all the admins there are very helpful. Their goal is for us to succeed so why not take advantage of that, right?

For example, ever wondered how to create a really neat and well organized post? Well you can ask @theterminal for tips and tricks. Thanks to them I was able to learn that every posted image in my blog should have a brief comment about its origin. And there are free sites like Pixabay or Unsplash where you can safely download and place images in your posts with credits to the author. You can join @theterminal by accepting their invite in Discord.

Now back to the point. This post is part of the Curation Challenge for the Redfish Rally-100. I have decided to write a curation post for my fellow Hiver @bulgarianmermaid. In case you wonder what curation means, it means to organize and cherry pick a post from a blogger and then summarize it in your way giving props for the work of the author.

The publication that I would like to commend is her Namaste post. The word namaste comes from Sanskrit and symbolizes gratitude and respect for one another. The gesture itself does not need any words which is why in India people just bow and touch their hands in the so called Anjali mudra (the hand gesture of Namaste). While in the western culture, we like to first say Namaste and then do the hand gesture and bow. As you can see the post is not very long but it is loaded with amazing unaltered and most importanly all natural content. I personally really respect and praise self art.

In her post she mentions a topic which I find highly interesting and yet a bit neglected. The topic is what happens when you are locked down, and this is deeper than the pandemic itself because it goes down to the roots and our own self-awareness. The real question is how do we motivate ourselves to do things in life? The pandemic is actually a huge opportunity for us to concentrate to what really matters in our lives. This is the time when we draw the line and ask ourselves, what were we doing until now and what are our goals? It is not simply about physical wellbeing, but about overall wellbeing in every sense that we can think about. Are we brave enough to take life in our own hands like @bulgarianmermaid? Doing more of your hobbies during these times is just one example. There are plenty of other things. What is important is to act and not stay still. Being conscious instead of sleeping. Anyway, I can write a lot about this topic but the main goal here is motivation for action. I would like to share a couple of her lovely images which I find really amazing:

This pose is called One Legged Wheel Pose (Eka Pada Urdhva Dhanurasana). It helps boosting energy in the body. This asana is quite challenging as the person needs to have quite good backbend flexibility. It is not a simple pose so please do not try it immediatelly without a proper warm up first! If you are a beginner just watch and do not attempt any of these poses. In general all backbend poses in yoga are highly invigorating and stimulate the human metabolism.

The above pose is the bow pose (Dhanurasana). It stretches the front body and stregthens the back muscles. Most importantly - Improves our posture.

The last pose that I would like to share is the wide-legged seated forward bend (Upavistha konasana) commonly known as the pancake. Of course she is doing a variation of this asana aiming to shoot a naughty Hiver who is about to forget to upvote this post :D The pose itself requires quite a bit of hip flexibility and is an excellent preparatory movement for achieving the middle splits.

Alright guys, that is all I wanted to share for now. If you liked this post, please upvote it and let me know in the comments how is the Pandemic affecting you physically and also emotionally? Did it change any of your habits for the better or not particularly?

You wrote : The pandemic is actually a huge opportunity for us to concentrate to what really matters in our lives. This is the time when we draw the line and ask ourselves, what were we doing until now and what are our goals!

I did that, I had a hard time not seeing my parents and family but for the rest it was my own family at the house and homeschool the kids and reflect on what we have. And the fact we stayed safe was most important.

Ok that said. Well done curating is making sure I want to go and visit you curatee. And I will. Sourcing was good and a shout out to the terminal and enough words ! You are doing this with enthousiasme and I feel that while reading. well done in week 1
