Post-birthday Post

in #russia4 years ago

So I turned 40 years old. What did I do on my birthday? I passed the practice of diving in a "dry suit" in a flooded quarry in Shchelkovo (Russia, Moscow region). Now it remains to write a test paper on the theoretical part of the course, and I will receive a new specialization in my diving career and the opportunity to comfortably be at depth in cold waters. Now the water temperature was 15 degrees Celsius, I was in the water 2 times for 30 minutes and did not freeze at all — this is great!

Why do I need this at all? I just love the underwater world, which is beautiful everywhere, even where there are not a huge number of bright tropical fish. I am interested in diving at different times of the year, I want to definitely try ice diving. One of my main desires: I want to dive into the largest freshwater lake in the world — Baikal lake. While it is a little scary to think about diving in near-zero temperature water, but in a dry suit it is quite possible to do this comfortably, and getting used to it is a matter of practice.

The photo was taken by @kibela — my constant buddy partner and friend, with whom we have already traveled almost half the world. Thank you so much!

By the way, if you are interested in purchasing my high-resolution photographs in order to use them privately (including printing on photo paper or large canvas), create a collection of limited editions of digital pictures you own or just thank me for my work, you can visit the new Lensy.io marketplace and view and buy one of limited editions of my tokenized photos. You can also feel free to write me and ask any photo you like from my blog to add there for the purpose of further purchase.

Awesome. How long have you been diving?

I completed my training and received my OWD (Open Water Diver) certification in January 2018 in Bali, just over two and a half years ago. Before that, I dived in Egypt and Russia as an intro diver. I will definitely write about this in more detail shortly.
