2 More OZ of Silver Added to the Stack

I think silver stackers are some of the friendliest people around. I also didn’t realize how widespread stacking was. I love getting to the conversation about coins so I was actually talking to a friend’s father who ended up digging out and showing me his 5000 oz stack! Not only that he ended up handed me two coins that I thought I should have one being the Johnson Matthey The Right to Vote and A 1993 liberty dollar.

Both are beautiful coins with a little bit of patina which being new to stacking seems like it can happen, but I just ordered some airtight holders to start collecting my coins so this does not happen to the rest of my stack.

Does anybody know if this adds or detracts from value?

I was also showing off some of my coins on Reddit and I actually got quite a few people saying that I should be wearing gloves when handling coins… Would you guys be recommending this as well?

SIlver is silver, @cryptictruth!
There are people who put a value on toned coins, it's all the same to me!
STACK ON, my friend! You are on the right track!!!!

That’s my attitude too. I’m putting the coins I really like in airtight cases but my Apmex rounds are just staying in the sleeve. I have a really cool order come soon I can’t wait to post it.

I have some rounds on air-tites... I think all of them are in air-tites @cryptitruth!

They are only about $1 if you buy them in bulk but it looks likes different mints have slight different sized rounds so I many need to pick up a variety.

Mostly they'll be 39 mm, @cryptictruth.

Yeah I was comparing some of my coins and there are some subtle difference but I’m assuming the cases account for that. We will see when they arrive on Friday.

The patina is called Toning and depending on the colors it can make it worth much more. I don't wear gloves when handling my coins but do only hold them by the edges. That Johnson Matthey is a pretty rare piece. It's from a 10 coin set in 1985 but I can't find how many of them were produced anywhere. Here is a little info I did find.

This is awesome thanks for finding it. Now I just need to figure out how much it’s worth!

I think I know just the person to answer that. @stokjockey can you unleash some knowledge about this coin?

I Believe the JM Rounds are Fairly Common but that Won't Matter When Silver SPOT is over $1000 !
@vgholdingsllc

You should get some really good replies. I think you can treat them with something to get rid of the patina, but I would wait until you hear from the experts! These are pretty sweet! How 5000 oz! That is nuts1

I’m not planning to clean I’ll just let them do their thing. Yeah he has a pretty big collection. His gold collection is even better. He gave me 1/4 oz gold coin too.

Wow! That is awesome!

Can’t go wrong with any Johnson Matthey rounds or bars. Nice ones. You don’t want to ever clean a coin or bar it takes away any value it has beyond the metal content. Certain toning adds value.

Ok I have heard that some of that toning is good. It’s kind of pretty since it’s multi colored. I’m not into wearing gloves so we will see how the collection holds up.

That JM round is sweet!! So nice of him to share with you. Stack on @cryptictruth!

Yeah he is pumped I’m stacking. I also got all my coins kit my grandfather left me. I found a few silver mint proofs. I’m jumping in with both feet.

Johnson Mathey Vintage, a nice silver round to have. Congrats! @cryptictruth

Thanks it’s a pretty one. I’m starting to branch out to more vintage stuff now.
