Strawberry, Banana and Blueberry Smoothie Receipe.

in #smoothie8 years ago (edited)

OK guys this is the ultimate smoothie for me personally so id like to share it with you all.

You will need the following:

Yoghurt

100 grams strawberrys (organic if you can find them)

1 frozen Banana

100 grams frozen Blueberries.

Honey

Oats (optional)

Milk

Blend untill smooth and enjoy one of my absolute favourite things to drink for my breakfast/lunch. I use high protein yoghurt as im a runner and use oats lightly just to add some oat to the 'meal' so to speak. Oats are great for your heart, and strawberries and blueberries are considered super fruits by many nutrionists. Very little sugar in any of the fruits also which is why i add some honey to sweeten it. Honey gives you a regulated dose of sugar througout the day, it offers an instant 'pick me up' and then a slow release for the rest of the day to keep you going. Bananas are also a great mood booster as well as potassium rich. The average cost of the smoothie is approx £1.75  depending on where i source my fruit, but worth their weight in gold i think. I also add a splash of milk and water at the end just to thin it down slightly.

Before lunch you can fit 3 of your 5 a day in right here. Top up with orange juice later in the day and have some veg for tea. Health is wealth and if your like me iv always been afraid of eating these fruits whole. Ive no idea what it is but ive always loved the smell but never really been able to eat them by themselves so one day i took the plunge and bought a smoothie machine for around £20 out of curiosity and BINGO. Iv found this to be a mini awakening for myself so just wanted share the reciepe.

Hope you enjoy.

I should try this out some time. Only thing that sucks is I have no smoothie machine. Could I use a blender of some kind?

i imagine so yeah, might not purify it down as well. Make sure you freeze the banana an blueberries though makes the whole thing cold and super refreshing. :)
