No Sense

This is one of the local airlines left after SAA our National carrier is now bankrupt. Others are still reeling and we shall have to wait and see who pulls through and who doesn't. There is talk of one other that runs alongside British Airways here that has also gone belly up.

Safair is a low cost airline and it is great they are back to flying. I know there are some National guidelines for social distancing in place for public transport which they obviously think they are not part of. Yesterday they announced that they are being really considerate and will sell you the seat next to you so you can be safer whilst travelling.

No mention of restrictions on numbers for air craft which is amazing when we all know how close the seats are to each other.

This is good business if the gullible fall for it as I believe they are breaking the law with this offer. Every other airline in the world is operating at one passenger per row and not every other seat until things get back to normal. This offer is as though they are being considerate to you thinking of your welfare. Meanwhile they have a fully paid for plane with less take off weight making more profit.

What gets me is the case of the row with 3 seats which is normally the case for window seating and not the middle aisle. If you are by the window in seat c and someone is in seat a have you both now paid for seat b to be empty? Remember this is Africa and anything is possible and believe they will get away with this. Another reason never to fly with a local airline at home or travelling overseas. According to Government information someone is allowing this for some reason and there has to be a backhander in place.

I am not flying so I am not bothered but it all sounds ludicrous with such harsh rulings on our lock downs and now this is permissible. The Court over ruled the level 3 and 4 lock downs this evening saying it was unconstitutional how they have been implemented so we will have to wait and see. Government wont like that one bit as they hate listening to court rulings.

That's so kind of them, lol.

I have decided to go nowhere near a plane at the mo. They decided to keep a row empty between each files row but that means you could be sitting next to a stranger in your row of three! At least they aren't trying to charge is for the empty seats yet, at least not directly!

Been tempted to climb on a plane but not just yet. My mother is getting old and have to see her regularly so I can't leave it too long between trips. Plus my last lot of jeans are holier than thou and need replacing so a good excuse to pop over.

Unless I absolutely have to it will be a while before I find myself on a plane again. At least any time soon. I don't really care for flying in the first place, let alone when there could be someone that is infected sitting right near me.
