Shauner's 45th Splinterlands Brawl Report - PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish Guild

Welcome to my 45th #BrawlReport as part of the @hive.pizza PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish guild! This is the brawl that ended around December 3, 2022 and I returned to battling in Fray #1 after taking a try at a higher level in the last brawl.

PIZZA 2 Guild Member Performance

I snagged the first place slot, but we had a whopping six players go undefeated! Congrats to @koodies, @elokin, @blitzzzz, @nelthari, and @therizzo on their undefeated performance! I'm sending you all some SBT to celebrate!

PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish Results

We earned 18 crowns and 969 merits for finishing in 1st place in this brawl. I'm not sure we have ever had a win as definitive as this one. We scored more than twice as many wins as the second place guild and had fewer than 10 total losses. This was an amazing performance by everyone in the guild as not a single member had a losing record!

My Battles

My 7-0 record was the result of going 5-0 in actual battles with two opponents fleeing.

Battle #2 - Win

This was a high mana battle and I love those. With the Taunt buff in effect, my Quora is even more powerful since she can hit twice from any position, once with magic and once with melee.

As a defensive measure, I placed a Thorns card in the last position to hit my opponent with some damage every time their melee attacks my last card via the forced sneak attack buff.

Battle #3 - Win

In this battle our melee monsters can attack from any position. I wasn't able to rent Mylor Crowling because that splinter wasn't allowed.

I expected that my opponent may utilize a thorn buff so I included two magic attack cards and used high speed melee along with bloodlust melee to hopefully evade their attacks and also build some high strength. The purpose of the Gelatinous Cube is to give my bloodlust card more time to make kills and build up its stats before it starts taking hits.

I lucked out in this battle since my bloodlust card happened to make a lot of kills. Had the timing been off by a little bit, it never would have built up its strength as much as it did and this battle would have ended differently.

Final Thoughts

This brawl is probably the best we have ever had in the PIZZA2 guild and I couldn't have been happier with our performance. I think my own battles went well and I lucked out in facing opponent who either didn't have Gladiator cards or chose not to use them, so my bloodlust ability was able to perform without opposition.
