Splinterlands <-> WAX Integration Announcement

in #splinterlands3 years ago (edited)

One thing that has always been an important goal in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space is interoperability. A lot of progress has been made on that front in regards to fungible tokens, but it is still extremely rare to find NFTs that can be used across multiple blockchains or platforms. Splinterlands first demonstrated this with our Ethereum bridge and now we are further entrenching ourselves on the forefront of NFT utility by bridging to the WAX blockchain as well.

The Splinterlands team is extremely excited to announce that Splinterlands cards, packs, and land claims will soon be able to be transferred to and from the WAX blockchain where they can be bought, sold, and traded on the AtomicHub platform!

The new WAX bridge which will allow transfers of Splinterlands assets between the game and the WAX blockchain is scheduled to go live tomorrow, Friday, February 19th, at approximately 11:00 AM EST / 16:00 UTC.

This integration has been a long time in the making and we are very much looking forward to bringing Splinterlands into the WAX ecosystem and bringing the WAX community into Splinterlands. We also expect and hope that this will be the first of many integrations and promotions we do between Splinterlands and the WAX ecosystem going forward.

Before we get into the details, we want to express our sincere thanks to the AtomicAssets team behind the AtomicHub platform on WAX. They have been extremely helpful and great to work with on bringing this integration to life and we couldn't have done it without them. We encourage everyone to check out AtomicHub and use and support them.

Transfer Assets to WAX

The following assets will be able to be transferred to and from WAX, with additional assets planned to be added in the future:

  • Cards
  • Pack Tokens
  • Land Claim Tokens

To transfer any of the above items to the WAX platform you can use the normal method of transferring them through the Splinterlands game website and there will be a new option to transfer to WAX once the bridge is live. Additionally, bots or other automated scripts may transfer any of the above assets to the sl-wax account in the game to send them to the WAX platform once the bridge is live.

Assets will be sent to the WAX wallet address currently linked to your Splinterlands account, so please make sure to link your WAX wallet address if you have not done so already by clicking on your account name at the top right of the Splinterlands website and choosing the "Link External Wallets" option.

Please keep in mind that we cannot recover any assets sent to an incorrect WAX wallet.

Transfer Assets into Splinterlands

Splinterlands assets held in a WAX blockchain wallet will need to be transferred back into the game in order to be used. New filters have been added to the card collection and card details screens in the Splinterlands website to view any cards held on the WAX blockchain in the wallet linked to the current Splinterlands account, as well as an option to transfer them back into the game.

Transferring assets from WAX into Splinterlands will require broadcasting a transaction to the WAX blockchain. The options on the Splinterlands website will set up the transaction for you and allow you to confirm and sign the transaction using either WAX Cloud Wallet or the Anchor wallet software.

Additionally, assets can be transferred from WAX into Splinterlands using any WAX wallet by sending them to the splintrlands account on WAX and including the recipient's Splinterlands/Hive blockchain account name in the memo. Please note that the Splinterlands account on the WAX blockchain is splintrlands (without the "e") since custom WAX accounts must be 12 letters long.

Buy, Sell, and Trade on AtomicHub

Splinterlands assets can be bought, sold, and traded on https://wax.atomichub.io along with loads of other NFTs from many other games and projects, however Splinterlands also has their own page and subdomain on AtomicHub at https://splinterlands.atomichub.io which will only show official Splinterlands NFTs.

Please be aware that anyone can make NFTs on WAX/AtomicHub and there are many scams that make unofficial NFTs that look just like official ones. All official Splinterlands assets will be part of the splintrlands collection (without the "e") and will have a checkmark next to the collection name to indicated it has been verified by the AtomicHub team.

If you use the https://splinterlands.atomichub.io page then only verified, official Splinterlands assets will be shown.

All buying and selling on AtomicHub uses the WAX (WAXP) token and requires a WAX wallet address and wallet software to use. As mentioned above, WAX wallets can be created for free at https://all-access.wax.io/ and WAX (WAXP) tokens can be purchased on numerous exchanges including Bittrex, Upbit, Huobi, Bithumb, and KuCoin.

Mint Numbers

The AtomicHub platform tracks the "mint number" of each different type of asset and there are many people who like to collect first mints or low mint number assets. Splinterlands cards will also have mint numbers on WAX, however they will represent only the order in which the cards were minted on the WAX blockchain and not in the Splinterlands game. That means that the first Goblin Shaman card that is transferred from the game to the WAX blockchain will be the first mint of that specific card regardless of when it was actually minted in Splinterlands.

Splinterlands fully supports players trying to be the first to mint each type of card (each edition and foil version of a card is considered a separate asset as far as mint numbers go) or to collect low mint number cards on WAX, however we want to be clear that the WAX mint number of an asset has no utility or value within the Splinterlands game.

Additionally, when a card is sent from WAX back into Splinterlands, that asset will be burned on the WAX blockchain and its mint number will be lost. If the same card is later transferred back to WAX a new version will be minted. This is necessary since the card level, BCX, and image may have changed since it was last transferred back into Splinterlands.

Issues & Support

While we have done a significant amount of internal testing for the WAX-Splinterlands bridge, as with any new feature it is possible that there may be some unexpected bugs or issues that arise once it is released to players.

If you experience any issues transferring Splinterlands assets between the game and WAX, please contact us at [email protected] or in the #tech-support channel on the Splinterlands Discord Server.

Depending on the volume of support requests it may take some time for us to resolve each one, so please be patient, and be assured that we will make sure all assets get to the appropriate place.

Stay tuned for more updates from the Splinterlands!

@yabapmatt I have some questions?
1.For each card level(same card, same edition) will have different mint numbers?
2.Can we send cards in bulk to @sl-wax?
3.Can we send cards in cooldown?

Good questions. I got a few more.

  1. Also there can be cards with same level but different bcx, how would it be reflected on WAX?

Massive kudos to the product team for such a great accomplishment. Looking forward to welcoming more Wax players into the ecosystem!

Oh yes! Massive kudos, to the cheat/theft "team". Your so-called awesome "team", is made up some of the biggest original insider thieves who literally stole tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars of other peoples money and assets that did not belong to them, or did not acquire them with their own "investments", like everyone else from the very beginning, and then a whole lot more. Now they are also getting compounding returns on the assets and income they continuously derive, that doesn't legitimately belong to them, as well as all of the loopholes and special access you gave them with their "code". You all new about this, but not only was nothing done about it, it was deliberately kept quiet and covered up, and then you all literally rewarded the theft and cheating by giving some of them team member status AFTER it was made aware to you all (you already knew about it anyway).

That's right. You literally went and hired the worst of the worst of the scumbags, thieves and cheats, even after you were fully aware of their actions. That needed to be repeated. Was this based on some kind of genuine merit system, or something else, considering all of the above? Who the fuck hires people and makes them a part of their organisational structure (and pays them a regular income, while having a direct conflict of interest in-game), when they knew all of this? What was the payoff @aggroed? Are you going to reimburse any of that stolen money or assets back to the "community", (a word you love to throw around as a PR stunt) who funded the cost of it all, and those peoples very existence around here?

To this day nobody has directly responded to the cheating allegations which can be backed up with evidence, that was provided at the time.....of course it was completely ignored and the theft continued, and still does to this day in other various forms because of that special access with "code", to your special class of butt lickers made up of giant stakeholders with big wallets.

Screw you, and your lard brothers who constantly have their tongues firmly entrenched in your butthole and deliberately work in unison to trash and marginalise anyone who dares have a different opinion than others, or asks legitimate fucking questions that you don't want to answer honestly. They even do it on their own podcast, by trying to deliberately tarnish others reputations, and then literally contradict themselves the very next "episode", when the same message is coming from a different, but "approved source".

Funnily enough, when some less revealing and damaging concerns or questions are raised at a much later date by others who are deemed to have "approved opinions" and even team member status, then suddenly you are all on board. Forget about the original messenger - they must be crushed and left aside. As long as you can control the entire conversation and PR, then it's given your stamp of approval. Anyone outside of the "approved for comment status", needs to shut their mouths just in case they mention something we don't like. No problem in allowing the very same original thieves and cheats in taking over and controlling it all, because they are your babies. Some of the same insiders.

You think I'm the only one who believes/knows this? You would be wrong. Anyone who dares question any of this is crushed from the top down, and then all the mindless dipshits just pile on as well, because need votes and money.

When are you gonna write another cry baby post that sounds like a sulky tyrant, while speaking of peace, by way of your absurd "captain's" hypocrisy? You gonna keep throwing ludicrous labels around, because you don't like people outing your bullshit and dishonest tactics with anyone who dares to question your AUTHORITIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

It's so fucking amusing, that the so-called "anti-authoritarians" and "freedom lovers/free speech advocates" on this platform who live in their glass towers, only care for those principles when it directly suits their own interest, or when others agree with them. Otherwise they deliberately start with the bogus name calling and sniping through their proxies. Just call people the C word, while some literally take things that don't belong to them (because they didn't actually pay for them), and then say anything to keep your lard brothers and so-called "team members" all fat and happy with their special access code and "free shit".

You don't need to be afraid of anything though, because all the gutless cheating/thieving wankers with big stakes and huge wallets will back you up all the way, for obvious reasons. Even the mindless zombies at the bottom of the trough, who don't know any better, will do the same.

You can all now enjoy the spoils at the expense of people who got wrecked by these thieves and cheats - who will continue to plunder this place until the end of time.

I'm clueless as to what this is about but......

This is amazing!. untitled.gif

Tapping into the WAX market will be huge, the market on there is immense and frenzy for goodies. Way more dynamic than anything I have seen on HIVE even if I am a Hive blockchain user for life!

This is great, another market to expand onto !

I'm excited for the upcoming updates 😍 WAX + Splinterlands will make too much noise among crypto gamers ^^

That’s awesome! Congrats!

MUCH SUCCESS! The mint # is wonky though.

Sounds awesome, hope everything works smoothly.

Hey, I bought a card and it is not in my deck!

Awesome, my two most used chains coming together.

I see. User error card acquired. thanx!

Wow! Just got done mining on alien worlds. Love Wax blockchain. Making all the right moves! :)

Another good news for Splinterlands

The word 'hive' does not appear in your text at all. I wonder why is that?

It doesn't matter as anyone playing splinterlands is already on hive. For newbies it can be complex. So we better promote dapps and make it easy to understand for non techies.

But at the same time it refers to Wax blockchain multiple times 🤷‍♂️

That's because they are making a partnership with them. So it is announcement for Hive & is definitely good for hive ecosystem.

If you say so. I really hope you're right and it is not an escape from Hive

It never would be.
@splinterlands will be on hive always transacting here on base layer. It is just bridging and expanding to different markets. It helps in bringing users from there as well as game expansion.

Thats what we planning to do with @cryptobrewmmaster as well, is that transfer code open sourced? In that case we could implement that as soon as we finish the Hive Engine NFT implementation!

Although mint numbers are of no consequence in game, be aware that it is very difficult to actually get that first asset to wax and get that mint designation. I remember when I minted the no.1 land, I believed I had stumbled onto a secret, it is the only mint under 10 I have been able to get and I bring all new cards to wax trying to be no.1.......p.s I'm glad clarification on what happens if you bring a card back to s0linterlands, I had wondered about that.
