My original goal was to pay my rent with proceeds from Steemit. This is still my goal but sometimes we need a course correction. Initially I thought just getting a SP delegation would do it. I have that now but it isn't going to generate the profits I was hoping for did to the dramatically increased renewal price.
I am now going to have to increase my efforts in getting to know people in the community. More work but better in the long run!

Yes @sequentialvibe, the extension cost has become very high!! Last month I timed my extensions when the price of STEEM fell to around $3.20 and that helped a lot.
Increasing your own SP is the best way to have a secure income from Steem, it's a longer route, but much more rewarding in the end!
