OK Protestors, You've Protested. So Now What?

in #steem4 years ago

So when am I going start hearing about what all these protesters plan to do? Well, here, I give you the traditional American pathway to your goal. You take the responsibility to fix this problem onto yourself. Yeah, believe it or not, you do it. You go find others in your neighborhood who feel like you, and you take care of it. It's your community. Shouldn't fixing the be your responsibility? Don't many of the policemen live in your neighborhood?

So, you go home, you start up a neighborhood style watch group, and you watch your local police. PERIOD.. You bring laws to a vote for police oversight.. You do it. In your town. I listen to you on t.v., and all I hear is something like 'They' have to fix the problem. 'They' need to do something.. 'They' haven't done enough' Etc, etc.. Who the hell is this 'they' person???

Well forget it. All this protesting and somehow I think you all assume someone else is gonna do it. Well, NO. You do it. You're at Liberty to get involved in your community. It will bring your town closer together. your neighbors will become your family. "Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet!" My Dad used to say that to us three kids while we were growing up, and I've always remembered it.. You volunteer & you grow roots in your town. It might have something to do with the Golden Rule. You feel good when you help.

And helping is always a local event.. So, go home and get involved. This protesting is fine. America gets it. That poor man didn't deserve to die. That cop is finished. But now, go fix your town's police, and the folks in the next town over will do the same thing and before you know it we've changed America on police station at a time. And the greatest thing.................................it was done without the heavy heavy hand of government.. That's American exceptionalism.. So go home protesters. Let us know in a few months how it's going.
