Emergency Level Censorship in China over Protests

in #storylast year

The creativity and resilience of protesters in China is impressive given the widespread draconian level censorship that people experience there. What the people in China have endured related to the pandemic could be described as medical tyranny and some have argued that the government has abused the situation to exploit the pandemic for more power over the people.

Are we seeing the modern day tank man protest? There are many brave individuals who have been seen across social media lately protesting and encouraging their fellow community members not to be afraid and to speak out against the injustice as well.

Will there be an ease on those covid policies now that the people have so bravely spoken out against the regime they face? It looks like that might be coming soonbut will it be enough to appease those who have been seen calling for freedom, democracy, and an end to the rule they've been living under? They are facing a system of surveillance and oppression that most around the world could not begin to fathom and even those who are living in other countries have also been brave to protest knowing that it could get back to their families at home and possibly cause them pain for going against the status quo.

From being fired, to segregated, to welded into your home, forced into quarantine camps etc, how much medical tyranny is too much? Politicians around the world have arguably and shamelessly exploited the opportunity for more power and that would never be surprising given the sort of personality who would arguably be attracted to such a position of power in the first place.
