Hive UK Northern Meet Up 18th June 2022

It's been just a few months since @shanibeer got in touch asking if I would be able to host a UK Hive Blockchain meet up again, looking back to September 2020 despite the Covid complications we managed to have a successful small group meet up of just six. I had wanted to repeat and grow in 2021 but work pressures left me little time and nobody pushed the issue so it just passed by.

So for 2022, @shanibeer made the request and I could not turn it down, after all @whiterosecoffee has a big warehouse full of coffee for people to meet up in - and as along with myself @c0ff33a we are Witnesses and get Witness Rewards - it's essential that Hive Blockchain Witnesses are adding value and support to the Blockchain and this is one little way we can give something back.

Driving if you use Sat Nav make sure it locates Hall Street off Gibbet Street as there is another one in Halifax in Boothtown which is a few miles from our location. Off the M62 us Junction 26 and follow the A58 into Halifax, at the end of Burdock Way Flyover is a big roundabout - as you exit the roundabout take the slip road to the left that junctions with Pellon Lane - turn right then just after Dunelm turn left into Bedford Street North, then Left into Gibbet street and make use of the on street parking. We are opposite the Elim Pentecostal Church, look for a large silver roller shutter and brown patio office doors with bell. If you get stuck e-mail [email protected] with your mobile and I will guide you in. Anyone heading in by train ping me an e-mail when you arrive and I can zip down to pick you up.

Plans for the day are out of my hands, I'm providing the space, sandwiches and cold buffet with hot and cold drinks, and will be doing a roast of the Hive Blockchain Brazil Nuts coffee on the smaller 5kg roaster which every attendee will get a 250g bag of beans or ground depending on preference.

Of course the main aim is for our active Hive Blockchain UK members to discuss the Blockchain and how they see it will evolve in the next year, no doubt HF26 due at the end of June will be a hot topic, for anyone interested we can look out how my Witness Servers, Full Api Node and Hivemind Server run.

The big 30kg roaster will not be running on the day, mainly because it is very very LOUD. Background music will be provided again with subtle tunes by @nickyhavey
