I had an extremely strange but extraordinary experience rock climbing in Spain with my friend.

First of all ... my friend is the rock climber/ definitely not me. I don’t have any kind of sporting talent: fact.

We met the lovely man that was going to take us on this adventure via a Facebook page. We spoke to him on the phone and then caught the train out of Barcelona to meet him.

Note: I was leaving Barcelona that evening so I had to lug my whole suitcase with me...

Beautiful Montserrat:

We arrived at Montserrat and the lovely Man (I’ve forgotten his name- dang flam it!) picked us up in his tiny car.
We were headed to a local dog shelter to pick up a few dogs to walk up the mountain with us?? Very random but very cool!

He was passionate about the rescue of animals and was aware that dogs in shelters are usually locked away and don’t get enough excercise.
He- one scared tourist at a time, wanted to change this. What a cool dude!

As we pulled up to the shelter all we could hear was dogs barking and yelping and growling. It was somewhat scary.... the shelter was located at the bottom of the huge mountain we were about to hike and then climb.

The lady at the shelter was Australian and super nice. She gave us 2 dogs to walk, They had very recently been rescued and they were MENTAL. (Cute but I was definitely frightened of them)

As we set off up the mountain the dogs got off their leads and ran off- GREAT....
We then chased after them for what felt like hours but was probably a few minutes.

NEXT we ran into hunters, out for shooting practice- they also had dogs and our dogs and the hunting pups did NOT get along.

I really thought my shoulder was going to pop out of its socket, the dogs were walking me not the other way around.

Once we finally got to the place where we would climb we tied the doggos up. I was first to climb, and for a beginner I think I did pretty well. While I was climbing the dogs ripped the whole tree that they were tried to, out of the ground and got away again.
Lol.......

Finally we got them back and the others got a chance to climb.

It was such an amazing and random experience for me as I would have never had the opportunity to do this kind of thing anyother time.

You can tell I wasn’t prepared, as my “hiking shoes” were vans....

Bloody brilliant memory, what a hilarious last day in Spain!

Chin, chin!
