Beauty winter

Thaw again today. The temperature rises to the plus zone and there is no hope for real frost. In 2018, these days I left home early in the morning and went to meet the sunrise over the ice of the Volga River.
It was very frosty in those days. Frost formed on all the trees. It made the world very beautiful. Trees in white fringe in the rays of the rising sun - it is worth seeing.

In search of interesting species, I went from the city to the fields towards the city of Nerekhta. On the outskirts of the city of Kostroma, I found an interesting place. A small birch grove was covered with a thick layer of hoarfrost. Each twig was covered with crystals of snow and ice. I don’t know why this happened, but there was a feeling that someone purposely sprayed clouds of water vapor here, so that this vapor would settle on the branches of trees, forming snow crusts.
This was very beautiful. It was especially spectacular that through the white branches of the trees the low winter sun was visible.

I was completely absorbed in this beauty and woke up only when I realized that my hands were very frozen. My camera body has cooled down and I hardly felt fingers on the metal of the camera.
I recalled one case when I photographed landscapes in the city at night in the winter. Then, too, there was severe frost and my hands froze to the camera body. Then the camera was film and it didn’t matter what frost it was in the street until the grease inside froze and the shutter mechanism stopped working.

You cannot handle this with a digital camera. It was necessary to warm both the camera and hands. Quite okole, I ran back to the car.

But despite the cold, I was happy with the beauty that I could see and photograph.
Despite the fact that everything is melting on the street now, I still have hope that a real cold winter will come to my region.
