Mother's Day, early B Day, and return day.

So, I'm going home. My train to Kyiv is on its way. It was really short, but so nice.

I will still miss the scent of bird cherry, the murmur of streams and the noise of the river, the storks circling in the sky, and the singing of birds.

In fact, I met spring twice, because in the mountains it came much later. In the city, the chestnut trees are in full bloom, and in the mountain village, the leaves are just beginning to appear on the chestnut trees.

Mother's Day

Sunday morning greeted us with sun and warmth. We had our breakfast and went to the terrace to drink a coffee in the sun.

The weather was perfect for walking. I found out that there is a landmark called "Carriage Bridge" nearby. It was in 20 minutes walk, but we stopped all the time and took pictures. In this regard, my daughter and I are very similar.

This is narrow-gauge viaduct bridge. At last! I found viaduct that is allowed to photograph.

It is hidden under the thick cap of the Carpathian forest, it is not visible either from the hills or from the road, and it is this mystery that makes this bridge very attractive.

There was a path along the river and we followed it. When our serious men are not with us, we like to fool around.

Life is the motion!

4 or 5 storks circled above us, and I tried to capture them in the frame. I will be home tomorrow, download a photo from the camera and see if I succeeded.

We were laying on the grass, singing ancient folk songs...

... and then sitting in the shadow of spruces, listening to the song of the river.

Nearby, a shepherd in big headphones was grazing a cow. But the cow suddenly wanted to change the location, crossed the stream and ran up the path. The shepherd ran after her.

By the way, in the villages on the west of Ukraine (maybe not only there), all passers-by greet each other. Acquaintances and strangers. Such a custom. My daughter and I greeted all the passers-by, and they wished us a good day in return. Almost like locals.😉

We could probably spend many hours like this but my battery go dead, and battery of Nat' phone was almost dead as well so we went back.

A walk before dinner gave us several more interesting locations. We stopped near the old church again. It is on the hill, and thanks to the good weather, snow-capped mountain ranges and peaks were visible on the horizon. Incredibly!

In the evening, we had a 2-hour swim in the vat. It is a popular local attraction for tourists. One vat with hot water (37-38-...), the other with cold. Our tired feet were thrilled. 🙂

I am so grateful to my daughter for this time together. Thanks to her, I was able to relax a little.

Actually, she offered to go somewhere further together, perhaps to Krakow for a few days. But such a trip would cost much more. Besides, I must cinfess I have a faint hope that I will be able to go to this year's Hivefest. It would be so great to go there with her! I even started to save HBD... But it depends, you know.

Okay, let's stop looking into the future. Nat left on Monday, and I left the next day. Oh, by the way, a very strange thing happens with her. She arrived to the railway station in advance and found out that her train leaves in 2 minutes. The train left half an hour ahead of schedule!! She travelled in an almost empty carriage actually.

My train was on time. My car was very old. The last time I rode in such a carriage was during my student years. I had a small talk with the conductor and he said that new cars were put on the Polish route, and old, slightly repaired ones were given instead.

By the way, when I was waiting for my train on the day of departure from Kyiv at the railway station, it was the train that was leaving for Warsaw. When the train started, the speakers on the platform and in the central hall played the song "Hey, Sokoly". This is a folk Ukrainian and folk Polish song. Sokoly means Falkons, that's how we lovingly call young guys.

So, I spent almist 2 days with my dear mom. We celebrated late Mother's Day over dinner, just me, mom and daughter with my husband. Of course, my mom didn't miss the occasion to greet me with my upcoming birthday. This was the first time in ages when she greeted me in person. It was a lovely time with my family. I wish my husband Nick could be with us.🥰

Well, this is all. I was unusually active this week. 3 posts is a big deal, LOL. But I know that I will work hard in the next few weeks so not sure when I will be able to write again.
