The D.U.R.A. Files - Entry 1: Ivica Marjanovic

Dura - an English prefix derived from the word "durable," implying something is not easily broken. Examples include the brand names Duracell and Duralast.
Дура (anglicized "Dura") - a Russian word roughly translated as "fool" or "idiot," though in context it is more offensive.

As social media is so flushed with Kremlin propaganda in their desperate attempts to justify their slaughter of civilians in Ukraine, I've decided to begin a new series of articles entitled "The D.U.R.A. Files" to shine light on the propagators of this idiocy. The name was chosen because it seems some stupidity is just made to last. For the first issue of this series, I'd like to take a look at Ivica Marjanovic, a Serbian living in Germany. As this seems to be a common name throughout the Balkans I've thrown in its LinkedIn profile and photos to make sure the wrong person does not end up being humiliated for the misfortune of sharing this critter's name. Marjanovic is, I have to say, one of the most dedicated propagandists I've seen since my days in China doxxing Wumao's. Indeed, his entire LinkedIn profile is a monument to Russia's "Russia wants peace but the eeeeeeeevil West won't let us have it" narrative. He doesn't hide it either. He openly declares that his goals are not based on any principle or the good of any group or even self-interest. No, he wears no mask about having no view other than being a self-described "Anti-Westerner.".
You know, because it's not hatespeech if it's directed at this nebulously defined phantom unit (though they never have been united or worked in bloc) that is used as a catch-all-vilification for any nation found guilty by by China, India and Russia of being too developed or advanced, even when it describes far-East nations such as Japan or South Korea. And it's a delicious case-study in self-contradiction, from his call to his Serbian countrymen begging them not to join the German-led EU to the post right before it where he claims he is "losing his GERMAN homeland." Let's examine it.

So first of all, I notice that the very first contact he lists is Telegram. Telegram is used in Serbia (where he is from) though not so much in Germany (where he claims to live). It is, however, widely used in Belarus, Ukraine and... oh, look. Russia. Interesting. And oh, what an interestingly Russophilic screen-name he has: "DontHateRussians." He derives his entire identity from the Kremlin-approved myth of a world that is conspiring against innocent Russia.

And of course, his organization is devoted to fighting (ahem) "against renewal of German hostility vs. Russians." So again, the implication that any action taken to retaliate against Russia's decades of aggression is "hostility" rears its head, along with the subtle hint (by centering the blame on Germany) that all action taken in defiance of Russian aggression is "Nazism." What earned him his fifteen minutes of shame here in TDF, however, this delightful post.

...You can take a minute to re-read it if you need.

Dissecting this one takes a minute because there is just, so, MUCH, Bullshit in one place. I think the easiest is to go line by line.

Why are they busy #rebuilding #Mariupol „from scratch“?

The assumption here is that if the invading army rebuilds anything then they were not bent on destroying it. Well, sorry to break it to you but the Nazis rebuilt cities they occupied. The Japanese Empire rebuilt cities they occupied. Genghis Khan rebuilt cities he occupied. They're rebuilding it (or rather, forcing Ukrainians to rebuild it for them) because they razed it to the ground, precisely as they declared that they would, and ruinous craters are of no use to an occupier.

Why are they rebuilding busily anything in Ukraine?

See previous response.

Why are thousands of Ukrainians in #Melitopol happily waiting in lines to get their Russian #passport?

Russia's best spin said 23 residents, in all of Kherson, wanted Russian passports, and Russians are so desperate to force these passports onto Ukrainians that they are beating anyone including elders who refuses to relinquish their Ukrainian passport. We might as well ask "if the Concentration Camps are so bad, why are Jews lining up to get in?" Hm... the gun-muzzles pressed against the backs of their heads might be a clue.

Why have they harboured about 3,5 million #refugees from Ukraine since 2014 onward?

"Harboring refugees" is Russia's euphemism for their forced deportation of Ukrainian citizens to serve as slave laborers in third-world regions of Russia (a tactic that is not new for Russia). Russia likes to imply Ukrainians are pleading for this and that Russia is generously offering it. Ukrainians who have been forced into this, say otherwise. You might as well ask why the Ottoman Empire "harbored refugees" brought by so many of their slave raiders.

Why are Ukrainians returning home to Russian controled parts of Ukraine and to #Donezk Peoples Republik and #Luhansk Peoples Republic (these two „separatist“ territories)?

The fact that Russia is threatening to demolish their homes and thus deprive them of their few remaining possessions is enough to make some refugees (who previously planned to return home and rebuild after the war) decide going back to salvage what they can before it is all gone, is the only choice. Once they do, they find themselves deported as per the article above. And unlike Vicky Moron-ovich's assertion, this is documented.
And also, it's "Republic," not "Republik."

Why are „separatists“ treating the wounds of their biggest enemies, the #Azov Bataillons Prisoners Of War?

Given the torture described by the prisoners who have been brought back from Russian camps, I'm surprised even someone as cynical as the average Serb can say this with a straight face.

Why are „separatist forces“ treating Ukrainian Army soldiers with #dignity, #respect and medically?

See above.

Why are Russian Forces spreading leaflets in Ukrainian and Russian language with precise instructions for Ukrainian soldiers how to surrender or refuse fighting in a save manner for the sake of their lives?

Right. Telling a city's defenders "surrender so we won't have to kill you and your families" is a Humanitarian act. So, if I go to Germany, break into Marjanovic's house, rape his wife and shoot one of his children, then tell him "if you surrender and let me take you to a prison camp for the rest of your life there won't be a need to kill your other child or you," then I'm to be praised for my "Humanitarian virtue." Good to know.

Why doesn’t Russia just flatten the whole of Ukraine with bombs from the sky like the USA practiced their Irak war 2003?

Russia is doing precisely that while Putin's wingcritter openly calls for the slaughter of its population (seriously asshole, what rock HAVE you been living under?). The sad and pathetic attempt to sneak some "muh... but... but wudaboudamerika? NARF" in there was cute though. Oh, and it's spelled "Iraq." If you're going to post in English, learn to speak it.

Why are Ukrainians happy to see Russian Forces in the south and east of Ukraine?

Do these people, or these people, or these people, look "happy" to see Russian forces? Seriously Ivica, you're making China's wu-mao propagandists look like seasoned professionals here.

Why do Ukrainians say such things like: „We‘ve been waiting for so long and hoped you’d finally come to liberate us from Azov, from that Regime in Kiev?“

I'm dying to see what his source is for this bollocks. If he can provide ONE verifiable source of a Ukrainian other than the pedophiles and marauders who make up the DPR and LPR rebel militia actually saying this, I'll hand him my salary for a year.

And of course, if Marjanovic's posts themselves weren't ridiculous enough, its comments on them are even more juvenile. I've never read a single comment where this creature provided a rebuttal other than schoolyard taunts (and not even very good ones), links to Tass, or the occasional meme. And when confronted with irrefutable proof of the fallacy of its arguments, this Ivica creature responds by shoving its fingers in its ears and dismissing anything that proves it wrong as "Ukrainian propaganda."

Indeed, Ivica Marjanovic provides a sterling example of hardcore stupidity that refuses to bend or break. So polish up your tinfoil helmet, O Obelisk of Obtusity! You have well and truly earned the right to be the first to ever bear the title, D.U.R.A!

Wear it with pride!
