On a raining cold day one has to make a plan.
Yep, a wood burning fireplace in a friend's restaurant is indeed the right place to be. In 15 minutes we have another power cut so I will be back at 10pm to do the replies.
This post is too general to place in a specific community so I placed it here in my own blog. We visit the restaurant quite often on the cold days as it is a pleasure to sit there and to read the papers, and just the two of us can sit in total freedom to chat as long as we like.
There are also some beautiful paintings in the place, as an artist's studio is my friend's neighbor and she displays some of her works in the restaurant.
So come and look how we while away the time, waiting for the rain to stop.
As I said, it was a rainy day and the roads were all wet.
This is our favorite corner, and I like that "a yawn is a silent scream for coffee" sign on the wall.
Here below, is one of the artist's paintings. A lovely work of proteas.
And this, is a rainy heaven's paintings in the sky.
Beautiful sun ray that split the picture in half.
The rain stopped and we were on our way back home.
Luckily, I could get some pictures through our study window in the garden.
Here we had a speckled pigeon coming in.
And popping up on to the feeding bucket of the geese.
Harry the Egyptian goose arrived, as he is very jealous about their bucket and all of the animals and birds scattered.
In the background, you can see a squirrel eyeing Harry from a distance with much respect. Harry was also checking him out. And Harry whispered to him; Come over to taste some Egyptian anger mate!
Even on a day like this I am full of fun, and humor can overcome any of life's difficulties. We have no fireplace at home, and on a cold weekend afternoon it is always great to spend an hour or two at my friend's place.
The animals certainly do not find the weather funny, and they also don't like it when I laugh at them. The squirrels are clothed in their Winter coats and they are so lovely when they are wet, as you can see here.
Several shades of grey mixed with brown and silver on the tail.
I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.
And That's All Friends.

Spoke about having a decent fire the other night as our gas one is useless and way too costly. Nothing beats watching the flames dancing around along with the warmth.
I used to trade and install Jet Masters and I can tell you that I prefer a wood fire as they are the best my friend.

I like that sign on the wall too. It's my first time to read that. I like that shot of Harry and the squirrel. Indeed we have to find humor in life :)
Yeah, that sign should be my motto :)
Harry and the squirrels have much fun here in our garden and humor makes life so much lighter to bear.
