Those who have followed along for a while may have noticed that I like killing more than 1 bird per stone. I am not actually into killing birds but I am all over killing pints...especially while achieving other things. In this case, I am supporting our local chamber of commerce, networking, prospecting, building content for a beer blog and consuming said beer!

This #WednesdayWalk, we are at a Business After 5 event at https://brokenrailbrewing.ca/

Business After 5

This is a monthly event where we gather with the business owners of the region and usually have a beer with the rest of the https://www.stratfordchamber.com/ members. Here, Eddie is using his years in radio to MC the informal ceremony, announce new members, and draw prizes.

We attend every one of these events as owners of Town Crier Marketing https://towncriermarketing.ca not really for the prizes, but for the conversations and mindshare with other local business leaders. As a digital marketing company, this is a good thing as we exist to help promote and unite these businesses in the #shoplocal movement.

That and the beer!

First up, we visit the tap maidens and secure ourselves a beverage. It would only be rude if we didn't sample the product! So much to choose from. You know I went for the neatest IPA.



I took some L.M Haze home to review and loved it. I would definitely drink this beer again but it seems to be unavailable and unmentioned in their online store. Perhaps I should stop by on the way home from golfing tomorrow. Let's not get distracted!

The Event

This was not any normal staunch and boring networking event. There were sports to contend.


We were encouraged to warm up our arms as there would be a corn hole tournament. As funny as @davedickeyyall and I find that name, this rebranded beanbag toss does seem to be popular.



To give you that 'I was there' feeling, here you are having a beanbag tossed at you by the head of a local financial institution. We made it all the way through to the semi finals before we realized that the winners had to play on and not visit the bar.



We seized the moment and revisited the bar for another round. New England Pale Ale and a Square Nail Amber. Much better than hogging all the glory.

Founders Erin & Ryan Leamann were proud to showcase their brewery to the chamber members and have a whole new crew of potential customers sample their beer. Ryan is retiring from his civil job and you may be able to tell that they have big changes coming to the family in the near future. It was great to spend some time with them and enjoy the company of other local business leaders.
