Web3 Video App
❗ I'm sure all 3Speak team do the best and work everyday to bring us the best they can do.
Saying that, this best may not be enough. It's quiet embarrassing that one of Hive's oldest apps still having so much breaks and bugs.
3Speak's issue support discord channel is probably the most active support channels of all Hive Dapps. From restarting servers, videos that do not upload, rendering issues, ?energy outage problems? to recent 2 days offline App. I think there's to much issues in one of most used and promising Hive App and an urgent need to improve user experience!
Not saying that this issues may affect Hive reputation because people tend to confuse Hive Blockchain with hive Dapps, something like
- "upload my videos on Hive?"
- "Hive don't work! I've tried to upload a short video and being locked for more than 3 hours!"
Some may think I'm trying to mess with 3Speak and it's not a good idea.
I think it wouldn't be honest to pretend that I don't see one of the oldest and most potential apps in the hive having all these problems.
Solutions
Better than me I'm sure 3Speak team know what to do.
Go offline for a week or whatever and solve these daily issues at once with mass tests, instead of daily trying to fix what comes?
We're talking about 3Speak and Hive reputation, and at the end this may affect all Hive Ecosystem reputation
To be honest, despite everything Web3 and decentralization gives us and the potential of 3Speak, at this stage I would not advice a friend to leave YouTube and start a journey on 3Speak.
The train is already moving and first impression is a key!

The process doesnt work clearly. I havent used 3speak in ages, too unreliable and no support.
In support they have a lot of daily work, almost non stop work! I hope they're be able to come with a global fix on those daily issues!
Perhaps then best to give it up if they cant manage.
Like I said, maybe go offline for a while and come with main issues solved, it would be reasonable and understandable!

Way better than YouTube, it is easy to use and I like to use 3Speak all the time.

I love 3speak because it's the main video integration on ecency. I regret having uploaded my first vid on dtube because I had to use third party (youtube) for it and the frontends pick the embed up as a yt video instead of dtube.
However, a video hosting platform is no joke. It takes a lot of upkeep and funds to run one. That's one reason why web 2.0 video hosts like Wistia and Vimeo have monetization options. Storing and streaming videos demands a lot of resources.

Maybe because of that 3Speak is the app that take more rewards as beneficiary from content, 11% of rewards.

You probably have read the post, any comment about how you (team) will get rid of the common issues?
trying out best. important to have vaultec working on the BTC bridge, as this is critical to Hive's security. we are refactoring the 3speak webapp at the moment. then after that we will move resources onto fixing the database and encoding issues
I'm not figuring what does vsc have to do with 3speak's daily problems. I think you know that there are daily complains on issue channel and sometimes is the support that have to upload and encode users videos one by one, do you know?
Don't you think this is incompatible with one of Hive's most promising apps in terms of potential and onboarding. It sounds very crafty and unprofessional, don't you think?

Ye, thanks. Im well aware. Trust me, it hurts a lot more when you have put your own money and resources into it to end up with such a product.
Id have appreciated you DM me for this info, instead of putting it publicly on chain BTW, it is normal behavior to ask ppl before you publish articles about them which would probably have changed, had you had the discussion before you publish.
We are doing our best with the resources we have to make 3Speak a good as we can.
3Speak has a lot to do with VSC. our main dev is diverting resources to build it.
the BTC bridge is critical to hive, far more so than 3speak. 3speak will get better over the next few weeks and months.
I hope you will have the decency to contact the projects you write about before you publish in future.
