Here's my entry for the BeerSaturday 333 with the Triple Lager Breet from the brewery Malstrom (Quebec). I'd been wanting to try their creations for some time, as a few years ago it made RateBeer's top 10 list. So when I saw the bottle in the store, I didn't hesitate 😀.

Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 333 avec la Triple Lager Breet de la brasserie Malstrom. Cela faisait quelques temps que je voulais gouter leurs créations car il y a quelques années elle fut dans le top 10 mondial de RateBeer. Alors quand j'ai vu la bouteille au magasin, je n'ai pas hésité 😀.

📜 Brewery / Brasserie :

The brewery Malstrom was founded in 2016 by Mike Fiset, the brewmaster, and two other associates. Mike Fiset worked at the Alchimiste brewery from 2001 to 2012. And for the first beer brewed, it was a huge success with the IXPL Des Prairies, which is still #1 in the India Pale Lager category (source: All Time: Pale Lager - Hoppy / India (IPL). Fortunately, over the years, they have been able to develop other lagers, always with a great concern for quality and creation.

La brasserie Malstrom a été fondée en 2016 par Mike Fiset, le maitre brasseur et deux autres associés. Mike Fiset avait ses armes à la brasserie Alchimiste de 2001 à 2012. Et pour la première bière brassée, c'est un succès avec la IXPL Des Prairies qui est toujours n°1 dans la catégorie India Pale Lager (source : All Time: Pale Lager - Hoppy / India (IPL)). Heureusement avec les années, ils ont pu développer d'autres lagers toujours avec un grand souci dans la qualité et la création.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

The Triple Lager Brett is a blond lager with 8% alcohol with the special yeast of Malstrom. It was hopped with Wakatu and Galaxy, then matured for a year in an oak barrel with a touch of honey. In the glass, it has a beautiful yellow color with a very effervescent white foam. On the palate, the light bitterness is well balanced with floral notes, perhaps due to the honey. Very good beer, and now I want to try their big hit: IXPL Des Prairies.

La Triple Lager Brett est une lager blonde avec 8% d'alcool avec la levure spécial de Malstrom. Elle a été houblonnée avec du Wakatu et Galaxy puis elle fut affinée un an dans un barrique de chêne avec un peu de miel. Dans le verre, on retrouve une très belle robe jaune avec une mousse très effervescente blanche. En bouche, la légère amertume est bien balancée avec des notes florales, peut être dues au miel. Très bonne bière, maintenant j'ai envie de gouter leur gros succès : la IXPL Des Prairies.

Design

Nothing special about the design. For once, that's not what attracted me. It's simple and well done, with all the information you need when buying a beer. You don't need anything more... Professional.

Rien de spécial dans le design. Pour une fois ce n'est pas cela qui m'a attiré. C'est simple et bien fait, on retrouve toutes les informations qu'on a besoin quand on achète une bière. Pas besoin de plus... Professionnel.
