Sedentary lifestyle involves living a kind of life with no physical activity of any kind. The world is growing into a better use of technology and employment on the internet, which has reduced the use of the legs and allowed man sit for longer hours.
Activities involved in a sedentary lifestyle includes sitting for longer hours, playing video games or seeing a movie.
Is Sedentary Lifestyle Bad?
Yes, it is.
Nature says, “too much of everything is bad”. Sitting without no physical movement for hours has side effects, which includes:
- Obesity
- Heart diseases
- It increases risks of diabetes
- Could lead to mortality in old people
- Increases anxiety
- Causes a computer vision, (only for the use of computer and tablets)
What is the Solution?
At work, cultivate the habits of walking while on calls. You don’t have to necessarily sit to receive calls, climb stairs, by doing this. You are causing a movement in the lower limbs.
Go for a walk into the kitchen, bathroom on room when the TV station is on commercial breaks
If the distance is short, take a stroll rather than taking a bus.
Endeavour to walk at least 30minutes a day.
Avoid lying on bed while operating the computer, get a chair to sit comfortably.
Is There a Way Out?
Yes.
If you have developed any of the effects I mentioned above.
