I really like these guys!
A few times in my life, I've been blessed to be able to have some pet ball pythons. They are some really cool creatures and do very well as pets, so they are common in the pet trade. Since they are not known for biting and stay relatively small, especially when compared to some other species of pythons, I've known a lot of other people who have enjoyed keeping them as pets too. When I encountered one at my friend's house today, it brought back a lot of good memories. Thankfully, they let me try some photography with it too. Enjoy the photos!

Keep on steemin'
Great photos, although I am not the biggest snake fan...
I had wanted a ball python since I was a kid, and about a year ago I got to rescue one from a lady who said the previous resident of her house left it behind, and she was deathly afraid of it.
She was in sorry shape, super emaciated and dehydrated. Hadn't been cared for at all in months!
Well, months and lots of rats later, she has come around and is healthy and beautiful now!
Meet Zoe!
Ball pythons are da bomb! :)
Thank you for rescuing her.
Too many snakes are either left to die or released into the wild by idiot and/or uncaring owners.
That's how Florida wound up with breeding populations of massive pythons and boas all over the state, not to mention numerous other non-native species, and they are wreaking havoc in the Everglades.
They keep having hunts and round-ups, but it's the tip of the iceberg, and they will probably never really be rid of them . . . the habitat is too perfect for them. The local species can't compete.
Thanks for the kind comment!
I agree, there are so many irresponsible owners out there. People impulse buy pets without doing proper research. Then the pet doesnt receive proper care, gets unhealthy, and of course, they are not going to get it medical care.
Or they get it for their child who then gets bored... and people decide it is disposable. Since it is a snake, they think they can just turn it loose and it will be fine.
It is extremely frustrating.
That is one thing I am teaching my kids, if you get a pet, you HAVE to research it first. You HAVE to buy all its supplies and make sure you are earning enough money to pay for its food. And you HAVE to be prepared to care for it for the length of its life.
Bless you. I wish more people would treat it this way.
My parents were adamant about this as well, and thank goodness they were, because it made us much more aware of everything involved.
And none of us grew up thinking that pets were disposable.
That is how I was raised as well, and I am forever grateful for it! ♥
good job. the snake is lucky to meet you
Thank you! I feel lucky to have her. 💖
VERY COOL!
Thank you! ♥
Umm... No thank you. I will appreciate this creature from afar! True story! :)
Nice shots! It definitely feels like you're right there.
My son had a ball python. It was about a foot and a half long, and beautiful. I used it to overcome my fear of snakes. I had him put it on my wrist and forearm, which he coiled around, I once I got used to his "pulsing" by squeezing and releasing, I realized he wasn't going to hurt me, and enjoyed holding him.
You're snake is adorable and very photogenic! Heres two of mine when they were little babies ❤
Beautiful

I've always been interested in having a ball python as a pet! I'm just going to get a snake tattoo for now though haha!
I just handed Barry off today in Missouri and should be making my post tomorrow. Soon, he should even visit a bee keeper!
Awesome! Excited to see his adventures lol!
Do they keep it the garden? Doesn't it run away?
It is a pet in a cage, but I took it outside to photograph.
Did you feed it a mouse? i've only seen snakes eating mice in videos, it's amazing how they can dislocate their jaw just to eat!!
Only God knows how I was feeling viewing it . Even if snack to give money i still don't like it. Did you play with the head and tail?
Wow! I wouldn't dare!
Wow, I can imagine myself with snakes, biting or non biting, snake is snake
Woooww... Amazing the animal broo

These ones do not really bite, so it is pretty safe.
That sounds great!!
En verdad me dan miedo. Pero tuve la oportunidad de sostenerlo en la mano una vez, mascota de un amigo y perdí un poco la fobia a estos animales. Igualmente prefiero verlos de lejos 😅
dang that shits crazy!
Wawu! I most say you have a strong heart to take picture with a snake. Sincerly i cant even if they are friendly.

This is damn dangerous papa... We need you badly in this community

He doesn't look small at all
I am afraid of snake, I don´t like it.
excelent
very good photo, 👍
friend can take pictures with animals like snake. Not many people dare to take pictures with a snake, let alone a snake of that size. In my place, in Aceh, Indonesia, there are some people who also like to take care of reptile animals. Amazingly they are, doing something extraordinary, educating the public about their pet animals. While photos of their activities while giving education to the community, I once also post on my steemit account. success friends.
I wonder if the snake likes eating peppers? Probably not but that would be very funny since you are papa pepper.
viewed, voted, commented, and re-steemed ...
anyone follows me i'll follow back within a few days
if you have complaints please check the link, or else just do that content dictator thing you do i no longer care ... a resteem is a resteem, atm to 235 people, thats 235 chances to have it re-resteemed,
...disclaimer, disclaimer, something on stalking whales and stuff, since my pathological apathy struck and i got these pills i dont seem to care much, maybe it'l get better ... good luck anyway
thank you for this post, there are no pythons in my neck of the woods but we have the buzz tails lol
Here in Uganda we have been raised by our parents to ever fear snakes, just it's sight i felt a sense of danger around me. Guess with time this will change because people can have them as pets just like your friend.
But eeh!! the look of it for me,I just need to get used..lol
Amazing. I have a love-hate relationship with snakes. They are a source of a lot of my anxiety growing up in Australia. I've started to move past that now though and can finally enjoy their beauty
My wife told me a story about a woman who had one as a pet. The lady let the snake sleep in bed with her at night. It wasn't eating and she was getting worried, so she took it to the vet. The vet said the snake was starving itself in preparation to eat the woman.
It seems more doable seeing pictures of people actually owning them, but at the end of the day, it's still a freaking snake!!! And those are the snakes that coil around you and kill you.
I really don't mind snakes, especially ones that don't bite. I remember the pet one you used to have too! Nice photography!! :)
You remember!
I do, I think I may have even held it once! :)
The snake was even acting like a model itself, and you carried out the most creative part of the photograph, thanks for the post
Beautiful snake. I used to dream to keep some snake long time ago, but my family is not keen to it... so never had a chance to keep any so far. nice to see your snake
