Apollo Currency hasn’t had the best of luck since launching in early July. There has been multiple waves of FUD towards the foundation and Kucoin exchange also didn’t list them after Apollo won in their voting contest by a land slide. Unfortunately, today we got some more news that may upset some Apollo investors, but at the same time, is better for the project in the long run.
Apollo said HitBTC exchange confirmed they were finally going to list Apollo soon, but Apollo is now turning down this listing, due to HitBTC taking nearly 2 months to confirm they would finally add APL to their exchange.
Not only did HitBTC drag Apollo through the mud for 2 months, but they also won’t be refunding the $400k that Apollo paid for the listing on their exchange.
YOU READ THAT RIGHT: $400,000 USD
Team McAfee on the case
After Apollo announced they would not be accepting this listing on HitBTC, John McAfee made a video exposing HitBTC as “corrupt and part of a criminal organization”. He also went on to thank Apollo for their sacrifice and even asked that other exchanges list Apollo Currency.

Is HitBTC a scam exchange?
A simple google search says YES.
I personally haven’t had any issues using HitBTC, but I’ve only used it a few times for small purchases of altcoins. After seeing the McAfee Team expose HitBTC for stealing a different projects deposit for a listing, I was skeptical and today just confirmed it for me.
If you Google “hitbtc steals money” or “hitbtc scam”, you will see endless posts of people losing hundreds of thousands to this exchange and not getting any response from them on the topic. I have counted 5 posts of people losing over $50k in hitbtc and never getting any explanation as to where it went.
These exchanges are what puts a bad name on Crypto and is what made a majority of investors turn away from cryptocurrency altogether. Exchanges like this need to be exposed and eradicated from the crypto space in order for true mass adoption to occur.
Fun fact: Apollo Foundation is working on launching their own decentralized exchange in Q1 2019 that will integrate into the Apollo Wallet.
hitbtc scam stole money fraud
Although Apollo Currency lost $400k for this listing, they may have dodged a bullet by not getting listed there and this may result in Apollo getting listed on some better exchanges where their users won’t get scammed out of their cryptocurrency holdings.
