One of the FBI employees criticized Apple for the too complex iPhone encryption system, calling the corporation employees "jerks" and "evil geniuses." This is written by Motherboard.

At an international conference on cybersecurity, forensic expert Steven Flatley complained that the system of protecting Apple gadgets from hacking makes the work of the FBI too much.

According to Flatley, the speed of hacking smartphones has significantly decreased. Earlier, the employees of the bureau needed about two days to "uncover" the encryption system, but now this process takes about two months. At the same time, the amount of time for trying to guess a password has increased: from 45 passwords per second, to only one in 18 seconds.

All this creates difficulties in the work of the Bureau of Investigations, the forensic expert noted.

"Apple is pretty good as an evil genius," Stanley said.

The FBI employee praised Israel's Cellebrite company, which provides law enforcement with tools for hacking encryption systems. Stanley called the company the only one, "who can compete with Apple's security system."
