Happy weekend to all Cryptofauna* creatures - both big and small.
In this post I'm shifting gear into color.
I've posted 2 entries with "white on black" illustrations: SET 1 / SET 2
and now I feel like sharing something a little more provocative to your retinal experience :)
I've always loved sketching and painting nude figures. The human body is nature's work of art, as expressive as poetry and music; and i'm drawn to finding ways to capture its expressions of both vulnerability and strength, sensuality and danger.
These three pieces are sisters with only one day apart between completing each one. This was an art challenge I took part in for an exhibit that was dedicated to women's beauty. However, besides the obvious nude girls and me giving them slightly wider hips and thighs to work with, I also wanted to include a dark twist in each one - a surreal element that would take away the innocence.
Here are also a few sketches I've done to get ideas for the composition and to work-out certain elements before going onto the big surface:
Of course each painting has a bit of a personal story to tell (especially "Margarita's bouquet"), but I rather not say too much and leave the interpretation to you.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Also please let me know if I should add the tag "nsfw" since there are nipples and such... not sure if the rules are different for art... I was debating with myself and decided not to... but will add if its requested. thank you!
Enjoy

"Margarita's Bouquet"

"Fish Flavored"

Thank you for your support !!!
*Fun-fact, "Cryptofauna" is actually a real word that applies too all living creatures that exist in protected or concealed micro-habitats - I found it quite appropriate for this space of ours :)
amazing work! really like the colors and shapes :)
Thank you @marty-arts, I'm following your lovely work now too!
thank you :)
Wow. You've got some incredible talent. Followed and looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Nice, I like the voluptuous female figures you use. Beautiful colors, too. Your style reminds me of fantasy paintings by Boris Valejo.
Thank you! I was a big fan of his and his wife's paintings! I still am, and even more so of their pencil drawings that i discovered much later.
Yes, I had forgotten about Julie Bell, thanks for the reminder! I have some books with their art and process, I loved how they photographed real models posing for reference. A body builder wearing just a speedo and holding a iron bar was "transformed" to Conan the Barbarian with fur loincloth and a greatsword! And their inks/pencil are certainly awesome.
Yes! i cant imagine knowing all these muscles by heart (though i'm sure with their practice the probably did). I sometimes use myself as reference, but if i had proper studio i'd definitely bring models to draw from.
My retinal experience appreciates these works very much but my respitorial system is having hard time keeping up with this beauty and sensuality :)
hehe... well indeed, my intention is undeniable ;-)
Very good works, drawing, composition, colors all is perfectly done !
Thank you @Alain-Bellino :)

Browsed these at work... Oops. Keep up the great stuff.
Oh! hope i didn't get you into trouble at work :) i was debating with myself whether or not to add nsfw tag, but then after looking around the site i saw that artwork with nudity doesn't usually come with that tag. So I decided to leave it out. Anyway, i'm so grateful for your comment! and i will be posting more stuff like this :)
Nah, my workplace is pretty chill.
I'm following you now, looking forward to more.

These are simply incredible. I love them. I love the colours, the fantastical elements, the accentuated femininity. Just wow.
Thank you @benjojo (^_^) following
Wow, gorgeous! The poses are fantastic, love the curves. I really like the way you did their hair sort of simplified, in juxtaposition to the more realistic, detailed painting on their bodies. The colors are so vibrant, but flow so well together. LOVE! Definitely going to follow and see what other beautiful work you've got up your sleeve. :)
Thank you for noticing @offbeatbord! Actually I originally was going to go add more details to the hair but then decided that there was actually more in less after i did the first one, and then i did the same with all the others. Following you too
WOW- only WOW - so great art works - HAMMER :-)

Thank you sir @yoogyart! <3
Your figures are delicious. The flowy line work and color show much love. You eye is well developed the cascading color gives rise to a nice contrast of each form.
