Hello!! I have mentioned couple of days ago in my recent post Keeping a Journal why I started Journaling this year. And I want to share some of my full spread here. Since it's just my 1st time having a Bullet Journal, I decided not to be too hard on myself and put a lot of pressure on it. So instead of everyday entry for my BuJo, I decided to choose specific dates where I will make a full spread. I'm going to start with my 1st full spread in January.
Here's my Day 07 full spread entry (Januarh 07, 2020)
Let me talk about the story of this 1st full spread jn my bujo. Last December 2019, my officemate asked me to do a commission for her wedding, it's wooden signage for the reception area foe her wedding. At first I was so hesitant to accept the offer because I don't have the confidence to do it. I'm having doubts, and I am not sure if I can meet her expectations. But since she's a good friend as well, and it can be a good opportunity for me to go back to the track, even with fear and worries I decided to accept the offer.
We all have our own reasons why we do what we do. And why we continue doing it despite of the struggles and threat of failure. As for me, I do Art to Inspire and motivate people. I want my art to reach out and speak to other people, wanted to affect them and their perspective in life through the craft I love.
With a little amount of time given to me, I pursue to finish the 3 wooden signage. I kinda feel guilty because I know I can do better. But this is nit the time for regrets. So last January 07, my officemate message me in Facebook to express her gratitude. I was really shocked when she told me that it's beautiful and she loved it so much. (Lord what did I do to earn your favor?)
Here's a glimpse of my works during their reception
Seeing your works taking part on someon's important day really made my heart happy!! It was a paid commission but I think seeing my works being displayed and saw by so many people is also a win for me! My officemate sent me these photo and I must admit that I took pride that moment (that's my work right there!!). But I must say that I cannot do it without God's grace and wisdom who enables me to work in the midst of pressure and self doubt.
Earning money from Art commission is indeed a good thing! Imagine being finance by your art. But then I realized that for me, earning through your craft is just the bonus prize. Being able to do what you love and to fulfil your purpose is still the best prize you can get. I am so grateful to have this kind of opportunity again (after 3 years). I am so thankful to God for giving me doors to showcase my love for my craft. And lastly I am super happy that someone risk and took a shot a trust me.
“Thank you for trusting me and my Art.”
