Venetian painting is an extravagant and diverse topic that has its origin in the city of Venice and has had a great influence on the history of art in Europe, which is still admired today. As an important centre of art, Venice was especially known for the used colors as well as authentic light or shadow effects in paintings that made the artworks look alive and brought out all the facets of the culture well and this school has shaped many other artists. A huge Venetian artist was Rosalba Carriera (1673 - 1757) and that she should one day become a painter was clear to her already in her young years and early on she began to deal with well-known painters of her time and to copy some works and later she decided to deal with miniatures as well as pastel colors. In her environment, friends and family quickly recognised the potential that slumbered in Rosabla and motivated her to start an apprenticeship as an artist, which she did in Venice with the painter Giuseppe Diamantini (1621 - 1705) and Antonio Balestra (1666 - 1740) and after this time, she decided to break away from certain ideals and become an independent artist.

While in other countries women were often oppressed in art, she managed to become a symbol of women within art and it can be said that in Venice the rights were dealt with more openly than in other areas in which women were more oppressed and she has also stationed an example with her art from which many young artists were inspired. With great attention to detail she enchanted some influential personalities with her delicate paintings and some influential artists became aware of her and decided to ask for paintings and during her life, she made some contacts with influential people and also in other countries her fame grew more and not without reason, people traveled a few hundred kilometres to have a work created by her. In Europe she made a name for herself and travelled also to other European countries for her commissions and until her late years she remained faithful to art and due to illness she was later forced to stop her work and break away from the art scene, but not before she could enchant thousands of eyes and is still one of the most important Venetian artists of her time.
