This doggy model was given to me by a highschool friend and fellow alumnus. I think the pup here is a Yorkie. We (my friend and I) were pretty close in grade 9, and this would appeal to her sense of humour as I remember it.
The only thing I struggle with in terms of using classic stills, is that I've been spoiled by high definition detail for most of my reference material, and the older movie stills tend to be grainy and a bit filtered-looking. The mountain of cocaine seems a bit vague to me from the photo. That being said, I've never actually seen a mountain of cocaine, so I have little frame of reference here.
I think the next couple of pieces will be a little smaller. I have some acrylic pours that I think would be very cute with dogs on them. They shouldn't take too long to start and finish. This is going to be a busy weekend for me, so we'll see if I even have time to work on wee pieces.
In other news, we're hopefully going to get some restitution for possessions of ours that were destroyed in the Thanksgiving flood in our apartment. Fingers crossed there are no more hoops to jump through, and that we can go back to normal soon.
