The way she captures those unattended bushy eyebrows just scares me!
-Sweet Country Bumpkin, 2016, oil and graphite on panel, 10" x 9".
Rebecca Morgan was born in Central Pennsylvania, and her artwork captures the country bumpkin spirit perfectly.
“In the Pines,” is an exhibition of her work and is currently showing at the Asya Geisberg Gallery in New York through October 29.
In a recent TOH Magazine interview she stated that “I navigate my reverence and aversion to the place that has rejected yet charmed me. I operate in modes of frustration, cynicism, and reclamation.”
To me her work signifies a course almost hedonistic look at the country life in rural America.
