Hi guys am Matt a Ugandan contemporary visual artist and a staunch believer in crytpo, blockchain and decentralised technology.
I hold a certificate and diploma from Michelangelo College of Creative Arts, Kisubi. My work explores issues of identity, race, African history, black consciousness, religion and pop culture. Am interested in the complex and interesting relationship between art, beauty, money, fame, religion, death and pop culture.
My work also explores politics, culture, race and the overall human experience. I work in collage-painting, photography, installation and sculpture. I have exhibited at a number of shows which include the Laba Arts Festival, 2016. Kampala Biennale both in 2016 and 2018 . I have also had three solo shows, the last on in Nairobi at Kioko Art gallery in October 2019.
Am also a writer and art critic for several Art Journals and online publications with a goal to document the Ugandan arts scene. I used to follow steem, but never created an account with the platform.
Am not that social but with all this free time in this quarantine, I have decided to share and join the fresh higly motivated hive community. I hope to learn from the community, share my experiences and above all make friends.
