So much work with this dragon. It was magical to see how you created it. Piece by pieces, all those tiny little things attaching to each other.. it was kind of mesmerizing. When you start watching, you can't stop until it's done :)
It's a great animation. I can imagine it took you many hours to create it. it looks so easy when the video is sped up but I believe it's just an illusion :)
Thank you for sharing and have a lovely weekend!
Me encanto tu trabajo, también soy artista espero podamos algún día hacer un diseño entre los dos, sigue con ese talento amigo!
Seeing the creation little by little was rewarding. Dragons have always been majestic mythical animals and this is no exception. You have excellent final result. I'm pretty impressed It would have been great to read step by step how you achieved that result and also the program you used.
Tilt Brush is the program. Oculus Rift is the hardware. I imported a 3D dragon and with tilt brush painted every scale, star, cloud and rock you see in a virtual environment. When the sketch loads in Tilt Brush it reloads each brush stroke, so what you are seeing is a step by step loading.
Hi vaughnelric,

It is a wonderful dragon, especially the face, it is threatening. Surely it would be great to see him flap his wings
I'd love to animate it if Tilt Brush was capable. :D
The wyvern has a very handsome and formidable head. I think the proportion is well done :).
Congratulations for your curie vote ^_^.

@vaughnelric, i learnt one new thing today i.e Tilt Brush. I didn't know that it can be so cool by watching your video on how you painted with VR. You took how long to complete? It look so fast and easy in video. I enjoyed it very much on how you paint a 3D in VR. Cool. Glad that you share it.
Thank you glad you like it,
It took a few days, several hours at a time. Drawing, recording, editing, publishing.
@vaughnelric, seems need a lot of work and effort to complete one piece. But i like it, it really cool to paint 3D in VR.
The progression on the video make it look like it is very easy to come up with an art like this but I wonder if it really is that easy because I am not an artist. I am drawn by the subject though because I very much like dragons. Your creation look so majestic.
I wonder if you have the story behind this art? Who is that human figure and what is his relationship with the wyvern? Did you really plan to leave this on grey scale or how about making a colored version of it?
Tilt Brush is such an easy intuitive program anyone can make nice art with it and feel like a professional. Google has another program called Blocks, this program allows you to make polygon models and import them into Tilt Brush.
The story is left up to the viewer to imagine. The way it looks in VR is far better than what the videos shows. Tilt Brushes recording cam adds effects to the video automatically. The wyvern is actually a blend of offwhite dark gold and gold, but because the environment around it is meant to be dark, the shadowing and fog ended up washing out the wyvern in the video making it appear more grey than it actually is. Each Tilt Brush sketch that is published can be remixed by others using Tilt Brush. I may end up coming back to this one and redoing the environment and color.
However if you view it at Poly https://poly.google.com/view/728FnAPDp5Q You can view it in its true color.
I am not sure, maybe it is my laptop that is so slow because the Poly link keeps on "loading" state but the video has not come even after few retries. I am seeing the colorful "Suggested" other items below the page though. So I think the Wyvern looks much better in Poly.
The poly loads based on how big the file is, which in this case is a very heavy scene. It will eventually load.
I'll try again...
Nice dragon
This is magnificent and downright scary too. How long did it take you to create this? The landscape is just perfect, makes a great background for the wyvern. Good choice of colours too. Well done, this is great work!
Thank you, glad you like it. It took a few days.

Howdy from Texas vaughnelric! What a magnificent beast you built! lol. It looks from the video like you built this dragon and placed the scales and horns and everything on it one by one, is that accurate? Because that had to take a long time didn't it?
I've heard good things about this type of programs, very impressive job!
