@artshares and #artshares are two new channels on the Steem blockchain dedicated to promote, help and support our very own artists on the platform. Photographers, painters, musicians, and creative people from all fields are welcome to promote their original content through the new hashtag #artshares. Our goal is to help our artists grow and also help good curators find new and exciting content.
All genuine posts containing hashtag #artshares will receive a vote from us. With time we will fill and power up our account with more Steem Power. Of course all help is well appreciated, we will be very happy if you support our project by delegating or donating some of your Steem to this project. All funds will be used to keep the channel alive and support the artists and help the community grow.

I have included the new hashtag in the checklist our musicians use every day and I'll get everyone to use it from tonight as we all upload 1 song a day and then help each other with upvotes and resteems.

Delegation is easy. Just use a desktop app called Vessel.

How do you:
a) prevent the rewarding of plagiarized artwork
b) prevent users from stealing original content posted in the blockchain and posting them as their own on other platforms
All upvoted posts are monitored by the editor. It's a manual process. We are considering shutting down the bot in case of mass abuse.
This is an exciting initiative; we are also on Steemit to support original art and creativity, so going to follow here and use #artshares whenever we highlight one of our artists. Much success to you!

Thank you for this! I am looking everywhere to try and understand what tags to use for my art because i have noticed the "art" tag gets used by a ton of other stuff. Mostly photography. Which can be art too, but it seems to overpower the feed. I am also trying not just to look for support for myself but to become more connected with other artists here. This seems like a good initiative! Thanks for creating it!
Thank you for joining the team! As more people join the platform it's going to become harder to put everything under one tag. We see tags like channels. The good news is that you can create new ones and attract people to them. For instance, we can branch artshares to many sub-categories like: #artshares-photography, #artshares-paintings, #artshares-music, etc. With more authors joining the platform we believe it will become necessary to create sub-categories for specific types of content. Now is the time to lay the foundations.
yes and also making it easier to stumble upon them somehow some day! I have been here two months and I am still finding things I wish I'd known weeks ago.. merely because of the labyrinthine nature of this place. But I also love that aspect of searching and discovery.. but would be cool if there was a one stop help portal for each genre to get people off to a good start tagging correctly. :) some day !!
