Kuala Lumpur - Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor are reportedly flying to Jakarta today. Private jets carrying Razak are scheduled to arrive at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta.
Reported by Reuters on Saturday (12/05/2018), manifest private jet flight, Razak planned to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta at 10:00 local time. The leased jet is called from Indonesia and will land at Subang, Skypark Airport, Selangor.
A Kuala Lumpur airport source who spoke to Reuters confirmed the reservation on behalf of Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor.
A source in the newly elected government of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad told Reuters that Najib would take a day off. Malaysiakini, a news portal, cited sources as saying that Najib would take a 2-day break in Indonesia.
Previously, Najib supported by the Barisan Harapan coalition suffered a defeat in the Malaysian elections. Najib was stepped down from the post of prime minister.
He was replaced by Mahathir who supported the Pakatan Hope Coalition. Mahathir had said he would investigate the alleged corruption case during the Najib regime.
AFP has also contacted the Police related to Razak's departure to Indonesia, but has not received a response.
