Continuing baby shower blog

Hey guys!
Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! - This post is to continue the little post I made on zappl.

The hubby and I had a great end to our weekend as we had our baby shower today! I've been to a few baby showers before for friends but never had one of my own! We did it a little different then the traditional way most people do it and we had it co-ed. I don't think there is anything wrong with including both parents in every aspect of the child's life, even if said child isn't born yet!

All of our family and friends invited their husbands and boyfriends as well and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Well, it went awesome! The men seemed to stick with them self's while the women did the same. We had social time before we sat down for some lunch - Pulled pork on a bun was on the menu and it was AMAZING!!

My sister in law hosted the shower and she did not leave anything out! Obviously with having a baby boy, the color was blue- And i mean blue! The napkins were blue, the table cloth was blue, Balloons and even the punch she made was blue! The theme was also hockey themed! - The hubby and I are hockey fans, Toronto Maple Leafs to be exact .. also BLUE!





After we finished up our lunch it was time for presents and cake. We got some amazing gifts for our wee man! Everything from a car seat to powder for his bum! One of my favorite presents was this amazing book from my hubby's aunt called " on the night you were born". Being a first time mum, its little things like that, that make me look forward to being a mum and reading it to him for the first time! We were very spoiled and there was so much love for our son!

After we finished up doing the gifts it was on to more socializing and cake! This cake my sister in law made was very unique and creative! Being as it was hockey themed, she made the cake in the shape and idea of the back of a jersey with our last name on it! I personally am not a very creative person so the fact she came up with this amazing idea BLEW MY MIND! She is a very creative women and loves going above and beyond for people and she certainly did today!
