মঙ্গলবার রাত ৮টায় কলকাতার সল্টলেকের বিবেকানন্দ যুব ভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গন স্টেডিয়ামে ম্যাচটি শুরু হয়েছে।
বিগত পরিসংখ্যান ও বর্তমান মাঠের লড়াইয়ে ভারত অনেকটা এগিয়ে থাকলেও জয়ের আশা নিয়েই মাঠে নেমেছে বাংলাদেশ।
ফুটবলে এখন পর্যন্ত ২৪ ম্যাচে মুখোমুখি হয়েছে বাংলাদেশ-ভারত। যার মধ্যে ১১টিতে জিতেছে ভারত, তিনটি জিতেছে বাংলাদেশ। বাকি ১০টি ম্যাচ ড্র হয়েছে। সর্বশেষ ২০০৩ সালে সাফ চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপে ভারতের বিপক্ষে খেলেছে বাংলাদেশ। মাঝে কেটে গেছে ১৬টি বছর! ফিফা র্যাংকিংও কথা বলছে ভারতের পক্ষে। র্যাংকিংয়ে ভারতের অবস্থান ১০৪তম, বাংলাদেশের ১৮৭তম।
