Bangladesh's potential in manpower export

Manpower export is an important issue in the current global economy. Because there is an uneven distribution of population in different parts of the world. Especially in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Africa and South America, many poverty countries have more population than affordability. As a result, there are a lot of problems. So there is no alternative to transforming huge manpower into human resources. Initiatives for export of manpower from Bangladesh are taken as a process of transferring more manpower to human resources. By which Bangladesh earns a lot of foreign currency every year.

Many countries of the world have manpower in Bangladesh. Every year, a significant number of workers from Bangladesh go to different countries including the Middle East. However, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Malaysia and Singapore are the biggest labor markets in Bangladesh. Also Bahrain, Libya, Lebanon, South Africa Workers of Bangladesh are also working in Korea, Mauritius, USA, United Kingdom, Italy and other countries.

Bangladesh's huge progress is being achieved in manpower export day by day. Bangladesh has started exporting manpower since 1976. More than 70 percent of the workers working abroad are working in the Middle East. As a Manpower Employment and Training Bureau (BMME), the total manpower exports amount to 600 million by 2002-2012.

It is found that the manpower exports of less than 50 percent of the total manpower exports. Now, skilled manpower is being developed through various training to increase employment opportunities. As a result, many training centers and vocational education institutions are being set up.

Most of the people of Bangladesh are working in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Malaysia and Singapore. Besides, there are also countries in Bahrain, Qatar, Brunei, United Kingdom, United States of America and Italy. In 2002, Bangladesh's manpower was exported to 2 percent, which increased to 18 percent in 2012. This proves that foreign labor market of Bangladesh is being expanded gradually. The largest Bangladeshi manpower export in the United States, 215,452 people in the United Arab Emirates. With the passing of huge manpower, Bangladesh earns a lot of foreign currency. As a result, the per capita income of the people of Bangladesh, quality of living is continuously improving.
