Yea..weird. while I am not musically inclined, I have been surrounded by musicians most of my life, especially DJ/producers...and I have never seen that so I had to know.
prob. not so common in production, more for the people who enjoy to listen. as tubes are known to "color" the music. and i guess as musician you want more of a refernce style audio.
