Better DLive: My Opinion

How do you decide if a stream is good or not?

In my opinion, one of the most important aspects of whether a stream is good or not is if the person is likeable. The quality of the stream can be outstanding but if you don’t like the streamer then you’re probably not going to support them regardless.

That being said, I believe the quality of the stream is also a big part of being successful and something all streamers should aim towards if they hope to grow a following. I look for things like good quality video/audio, aesthetically pleasing layouts in terms of logos and overlays etcetera.

Going that extra mile to make sure your stream looks professional makes you stand out from the crowd and ensures your viewers are more likely to appreciate your efforts and come back for more.

Finally, I would say a streaming schedule would really help out a streamer to improve their stream. Having set times when you stream not only helps you manage your streaming/life balance, but it also allows viewers to know exactly when to tune in to support you.

What do you think about DLive?

I think DLive is great, a decentralized streaming platform is a perfect addition to Steemit and is something I look forward to watching progress over the coming months.

Platforms such as Twitch are over-saturated with streamers which makes starting out as a new streamer very intimidating for someone like myself. The ability to be a part of a new revolutionary technology and actually feel appreciated for my time and efforts, through financial incentive and viewer support, is something that is absolutely fantastic in my eyes. The fact that I am able to appear on the home screen of DLive and get real, genuine viewer interaction as a new streamer is something I am very grateful for.

How can DLive improve?

DLive is in it’s early stages and therefore does have it’s flaws, but I know for certain they are aware of these issues and are doing their best to rectify them as soon as possible.

The key issue I face as a streamer is the bug in which I am not being shown on the home screen when streaming. This obviously makes getting any viewers at all rather difficult and discourages me from streaming as often as I would. I am aware DLive knows of this issue and they are doing their best to fix it.

In regards to other features I feel DLive could benefit from, a filter by game function could help to make the user interface more attractive to a mainstream audience. As DLive gets larger, people won’t want to be scrolling through a load of streams that are of no interest to them.

Another feature that would be great, although I’m not sure it’s within the scope of the Steem blockchain, would be the ability to message in chat without it impinging on users bandwidth. For newer users to Steemit, they may be discouraged from having a long and frequent conversation with a streamer due to the fear of running out of bandwidth. This can make the chat slow and quiet at times.

Along the same lines, I’m not sure if this is viable or not but I’d love to see some kind of Nightbot integration or something of the likes. The ability to have commands that would link to song requests would be a great feature and it’s something I certainly miss from Twitch.

Why did you start streaming on DLive?

After getting my Steemit account and finding out about DLive, it was a natural progression to give streaming a go. I had tried streaming on Twitch a few months back to little success, but thought I’d give it another go on DLive as I saw the potential in the emerging decentralized blockchain eco-system.

I love to play games in my spare time when I get the chance, so the ability to potentially earn money and interact with others that are passionate about your hobby is a win win really.

What are you streaming?

I stream a variety of games, but I am open to ideas going forward. I try to think of games to stream that people may not have played as much, or games that I feel are under-represented in some way. I enjoy PUBG and Fortnite just like the rest of us, but I enjoy showing off some lesser known games in the hope that I can convert some people over. I know there’s a lot of PUBG/Fortnite streamers already so I’m just trying to fill a niche really.

Currently I have streamed Gwent, Battlerite and Starcraft 2.

How are you planning on improving your stream in the future?

Improving my stream going forward, I’d love to set in stone a proper streaming routine so my followers know what I’ll be streaming and when.

I’d also love to get a better web-cam and buy a green screen in the future to further improve the visual quality of the stream.

Yeah dude, this is definitely a must imo, didn't know about the bug on the main page...
Damn classes restarting is alrdy making it hard to come on steemit xD went to sleep at 5 am because of parties

Check you out quoting my content ;) I don't even know how to do that hahaha. Someones been doing their homework on Steemit markdown.

But yeah I totally need to sort out a schedule, it's all going to have to change when I get a job anyway though. Yeah the homepage bug sucksss so bad haha.

How do you think i get the big fish to follow me and like my content, if i actually read their content and quote them they know i read it and come to my channel and upvote me... my father didn't raise a dumb kid xD
And trust me, this was easy just use (>), now go look at my last post, spent 3 days on it because i had to learn how to use html, now that was difficult, but getting upvoted by the steemstem community made me happy

Hahaha ahhhhhh I might have to start doing that, good idea!

Thankfully I already knew HTML so it was an alright transition for me.

Yeahhh I regretted being so trigger happy following people back out of courtesy etc. so I've had a clear out of a lot of followers. Like, I'm all for supporting everyone but it was getting harder and harder to actually follow the guys like yourself that I actually want to read the content and give a reply etc.

My news feed was getting too full of random gifs/memes from people I didn't know for my liking haha.

I only followed everyone on the first day, big mistake, don't know why but most of them were cannabis growers xD still talk to some of them

Haha well, it's a very lucrative industry I suppose xD

I'm also trying out Dlive either it's for me or not. A lot of gamers post live video on YouTube. In Steemit, still just a few.
