Losing Crypto's never feels good. [A Crypto Faucet Case Study]

in #bitcoin3 years ago

Well I wouldn't necessarily say I lost them, since reality is they were never truly mine to begin with since they were on some website. We can say it's all a part of a ridiculous long term case study that I have been doing for myself since 2013. Unfortunately, the statistics I do have are all from memory since I never cared enough about it to document it in full. And let me tell you, there really aren't much statistics to talk about either.

Becoming a millionaire from crypto faucets!

Yeah right. It seems impossible, but even to this day I believe that it was possible. Even back in 2013 when I first got into the crypto scene. Nowadays? Probably not, but some of the crypto's I collected for free consisted of hours of sharing referral links, filling captcha images, clicking all the faucets and going through them one by one, making roughly 13 cents worth of crypto's an hour made it seem impossible. Even to this day I wonder how many people became millionaires off just the referral links alone, and how many people got screwed when a faucet went under or didn't pay out.

To this day, in my opinion, there is really only one bitcoin faucet that is worth using and that is Freebitco.in. It just sucks that it only gives you 10 satoshi's free each hour nowadays. It used to be as much as 1300 and 3000 satoshi's every hour! If I had stuck to faucets, the hourly income I was making was over $13 an hour, assuming I wouldn't lose any or have any sites shut down.

After consolidating a portion of my crypto portfolio, I've come across many sites that are no longer there, others that removed my account entirely, thus eating up my referrals and any balance I had within so I decided to empty most of my online stuff only to see there was just freebitco.in and coinpot remaining. After seeing I had roughly about $30 worth of crypto's in my coinpot accounts, I promptly tried to cash them out and my accounts were suspended because apparently I wasn't allowed to have two.

The thing is, they are the ones that gave me two accounts. I am hoping that they accept my appeal, but I highly doubt it. These were from moonbit faucets and bonusbitcoin faucets. I am not a huge fan of bonusbitcoin, but I used both of them way before coinpot existed, and had 2 separate addresses for each one. Come to find out, coinpot took over their transactions so I am stuck with 2 accounts. Try to cash out, and they take $30 worth of crypto that took me 5 years to accumulate. BAH! That hurts my belly. It reminds me of that time I lost 0.01 bitcoin because I found a magnet stuck to the backup drive it was in. OUCH!

In conclusion, I don't think I'll ever become a millionaire from crypto faucets. If bitcoin ever hits $1 million, I'd be lucky if the crypto's I got for free were worth 100 grand. The longest standing and best faucet is hands down freebitco.in and I don't think there are any better ones. Although, nowadays, they are just not worth it anymore so yeah my referral link is there but seriously don't waste your time!

I think the only way for me to feel better is to just buy $30 worth of the dashcoins that coinpot took from me.
