Science has proved to us with relevant research work how things occur around us and how they fit in our society. Right from conception to the way we die science has enlighten us about all our developmental milestones and so we are informed way before we even attain that age. Well that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the huge benefits that science offers us all. Talk about the field of medicine and how it is being used to save lives, the field agriculture which provides us with food.
The benefits that we derive from science goes on in several directions that cannot be contained in this blog but whether we fail to see it or not science has helped humans in understanding more the world that we live in. The Scientific Publication Industry is one of the biggest publication industry which produces several journals and research work all over the world with the purpose of educating people about the world the live in and how we interact with things that surrounds us.
The Scientific Publication Industry has seen some challenges over they years and this compromised its work as to how it informs the general public with relevant information through its creative and hardworking authors. These challenges and suggested solutions have been addressed in my previous blog and the solution that the Orvium Platform offers to the Scientific Publication Industry but this time around I am expantiating on the process through which journals would have to go through to get publish on the Orvium platform.
ORVIUM RESEARCH PLATFORM
Orvium platform is a decentralized platform based on the blockchain technology which ensures a transparent system through which scientific authors can go through to get their work published. The platform also awards members with the ORV token as part of their contribution towards the platform. This process is explained below as:
Registration of Users
The platform will require all scientific authors who want to be part of this platform to register their account in a very simple way and authenticate it with the use of (ORCID). This registration process on the blockchain is to ensure that people don’t impersonate others on the platform and also to prevent the work of bots on the platform. Members would have to confirm their identity by confirming their wallet details by making a transaction with their wallet into the blockchain.
Submission of Research work
Members upon verification can now submit their work for review and finally published into the general public. Orvium platform which is based on blockchain technology will record all submitted work of authors into the blockchain ledger system which is an indestructible system. This would ensure that works of authors can be easily traced in the future for any form of references. As part of motivating other researchers to make their contribution in refining a submitted work for publication, the original author can decide to award members who help in the review process some amount of ORV tokens.
The system of awarding peer reviewers ORV token would serve as a motivation for other members to give in their constructive judgements in making the research work a refined one for public consumption. The contributions of several members in the peer review would help contribute to make the research work of a very high quality.
Sharing of Research Data
Authors can share with the community their information that was used in the research work so that other authors who also want to make references to it at some point in time during a research in that field can quickly have access to it. Authors who wish to do that would submit the research data with copyrights so that he can get a share of the funds that will be generated from the use of his/her research data by other authors.
Ownership of Research Work by Authors
The days of publication firms dictating and making the terms of the license rights of the research hwork of authors is over with Orvium platform. Authors on Orvium platform will be the sole person to determine how the licensing of work should be done. All the terms of the licensing process is going to be determined by the authors themselves and they have the right also to change it any point in time if they so wishes.
Another feature that the Orvium platform offers is for authors to also choose already licensed models on the platform which they find suitable at a very affordable price. In case other authors also choose another member's licensing model.

Science has indeed contributed to the growth and development of human beings and the society as a whole, getting its publication industry in shape is a very key feature to ensure its continuous growth.
That's very true because even the blockchain technology is a good product of Science and i believe it would be very great to get high quality content from the Scientific industry.
Scientists and other researchers really need to be given a platform which has flexible systems in order for them to update the society about new developments that are happening especially in the field of the health sector.
