While all this talk about regulation might seem like a bad thing short-term, it might make cryptocurrencies far more legit in the long term. I assume regulations can only affect exchanges, since regulating private movement of cryptocurrencies is challenging. Still, I believe those who actually use cryptocurrencies as a means of illegal money transfer will still find a way to exchange them, even if they can't risk using public exchanges.
