The road to serfdom in the U.S.
It is happening right now. Productivity of the U.S. worker goes up year after year but that productivity immersed within capitalism goes to the financial sector. Most of it.
It was commonly believed by the John Galt worshipers that a centralized govt would lead to workers being disincentivized and they would just quit working. They would just give up. If you are in debt like so many are and you can't pay back your loans, why bother? If your a student with an unforgiveable loan and you can't pay it back, why bother? The bankers pushed those rules onto the politicians they paid for.
It wasn't socialism that has created people leaving the work force or people giving up. It wasn't socialism that got Trump elected. It was socialism for the ruling elite. Everything is geared in that direction.
Unforgivable loans for students.
Forgivable financial crisis after crisis for bankers.
Junk bonds, savings and loans, 2008 bank bail outs...
Sure fixing those things was important. Righting the sinking ship needed to happen. But we don't put bankers in jail like we did decades ago, we give them bonuses when they fail. Then they use our money to inflate the next bubble so they can extract more money from us.
Who get bailed out? Bankers.
Who pays for it? We do.
The public pays taxes and an inflating money supply for what?
I've converted completely to the idea that free markets, open markets and a global economy without tariffs can make us all wealthy and healthy.
But these markets are not free. Just look at beer a few companies even today own 90% of all beer sales (rough estimate) why? The barriers to entry are regulations that the few profit from and lobby FOR. The city, county, state, Fed all have rules about who, what, where when and how you can distribute alcohol. It is no different in multiple industries. Setting up a brewery would be child's play... minus the paperwork.
In our society there are two things to be cautious of.
1.) When something is being deregulated.
2.) When something is being regulated.
We are in a bubble. The stock market bull run will come to an end and money will be redistributed upwards again.
After the blood runs from the streets and into the sewers we need to fix the system at the top and make markets more free or just exit the machine and go full crypto.
